Mike has quickly become one of my favorite KZbin creators. I’ve started to notice that he never have any ads riddled throughout his videos, and doesn’t try to convince people to “Like and Subscribe”. People like him are a rare sight nowadays!

Considering he made his fame being poster boy for that traditional KZbin game, this approach is a refreshing break. There are a lot of self help channels, it's good to offer different approaches.

Lately I’ve been feeling down and depressed and coming across this video is making me re-evaluate my outlook in life...WHY am I actually feeling this way?? Like you’ve said, we have been conditioned into thinking that we have to chase this arbitrary goal of “success” but am quickly realizing that success is so objective. What we should really chase is our own happiness and that “success” is a mere bi product of us just doing the things that we love. Thanks for the insight Mike!

Awesome message Mike. You can have much more by being yourself and loving yourself, accepting that you are not perfect and you will never be, but you are ENOUGH.
@averagejane26884 жыл бұрын
Agree 100%...I’ve taken on the idea of doing what brings you joy and your abundance will follow. I enjoy helping others (I work in healthcare) but I will like to expand my reiki or something more holistic. It’s a process. I have my own demons to tame. Insecurity plays a huge factor not just professional but personal. Am I smart enough, do I have the skills, will I grow? Personally it’s...am I attractive, can I set healthy boundaries, am I enough? I fight those demons EVERY DAY. 2020 has been tough but I’m still here!

This is so relevant in today's society in most cultures. It's like we've been wired that our self worth hinges on our success and the impressions others have of us, instead of living out what we believe inside. I really needed this and I'm going to listen to this from time to time to retrain my mind that my self worth isn't dependent on superficial things. Thanks, Mike!!

Wow I agree 100% with what you said people need to stop telling other people that they will be a nobody if they don't do XY and Z that should not be a motivator do something because you're passionate about it and enjoy not because of some stupid fear that you will be a failure if you ddont that's too much pressure and stress. And its something that I've have had to deal with in my own family I don't need that negativity. I rather think positive thoughts that's are going to uplift me and encourage me to be the best I can be. I'm not going to assume the worse that won't benefit me.

I love the growth I am seeing in him as an individual and I am happy to see him back on KZbin. I love this content, he is an excellent speaker. He seems to have found true happiness which is what everyone is aiming for in life. Makes me happy personally. Looking forward to seeing your future content man.

Oh this video is so getting flagged, that made way too much sense. It’s amazing, what if everyone had some thing that they naturally liked they became experts at it through their passion yes of course there would still be a lot of work involved life would be boring without it. But if everyone was contributing in a way that they felt good inside and outside, can you imagine the planet?brilliant insight sir thank you

I have this issue but not in regards of a job but a relationship. 24, never been in a relationship. Honestly it's so hard not to feel like a loser, to not feel like you are the one in a million who just utterly failed as a human being. The past 4 years of my miserable depressed live I have been thinking that a girlfriend is what I need but I have realized that a relationship won't fix my issues. I want a relationship, but I don't need it. What I need for fullfillment is to stop hating myself and stop treating myself like I am worthless as well as pursue something that I think is worthwile because right now, aside from my hobbies, I have nothing that I pursue as a dream and I feel like that's a big contributor to feeling like getting out of bed is pointless.
@Ronin-kk4bt4 жыл бұрын
Being single does not make you a failure and Being a relationship does not make a person more superior than someone that isn't be yourself and believe in yourself and you will find someone I'm pretty sure there's a girl out there that is looking for a guy with your qualities. You have a lot to offer
@TheInsanePhil4 жыл бұрын
@@Ronin-kk4bt I know being in a relationship isn't the end all be all, it's just...at some point emotion wins over rational. I tell myself all the time that the horrible things my mind tells me can't be true but no matter what I or others tell me, the negative feelings won't go away. It's especially bad when I am in public. Everywhere I look I get reminded of my insufficiencies. I guess that's a side perk of depression idk. The same goes with anxiety. I want to be myself around people but I can't. It might be hard to understand if one hasn't been through that kind of stuff but yeah...I am working on it and I hope one day I can experience love as well as peace of mind. Thank you for your kind words!
@Ronin-kk4bt4 жыл бұрын
TheInsanePhil I have been through pretty much everything you said dealing with negative thoughts in my head anxiety insecurities. One thing that helped me was getting into fitness that boosted my confidence tremendously especially once I started building muscle not only that but I just felt better do to all the endorphins. As for being yourself hears what you need to understand being yourself is not to please or impress other people no it’s for you. You do things that bring you joy make you happy things that your passionate about. To be yourself around people you need to not worry what others think if you have a opinion on something speak it. Have a funny joke tell it as long as it’s funny to you nothing else matters. Don’t overthink things remember those same people you’re trying to impress they have their own problems insecurities and flaws so you might as well be yourself and enjoy life.

@@Ronin-kk4bt I have been working really hard since november to improve myself. Working out, meditating, learning new skills, facing my fears and more. Covid threw me back quite a bit but I am slowly getting back on track. I agree with everything you said it's just difficult to act it out sometimes especially the overthinking. Being myself though...it's so complicated and there is so much to it that I need to untangle. In my case it's less about wanting to impress people or getting them to like me. I think I am just afraid of getting hurt, it's a defense mechanism. As long as I don't open up, noone can hurt me, that sort of thing. In 3 weeks there is a party I got invited to. I am so anxious about it but I know I have to do this and stop running from it. Thanks for the advice and reading my stuff, you're a kind soul.

Unfortunately neoliberal capitalism necessitates competition and a race to the bottom resulting in the negative externality of everyone having to shun their intuition and instincts in order to make a dollar. If we want freedom we will need something like a universal basic income/dividend or a "race to the top" and widespread economic democracy. But at the same time I acknowledge that most people would be better off with this mindset of "enoughness". After I discovered myself I no longer felt the need for anything. Even food, but now years later I have to eat more because my desire for food was so low that I started falling apart... As I like to say, I'm a millionaire of truth. Whilst being very very very poor.
