It's all about trade offs. I work ten hours a day and am a single father. I would rather sleep 8 hours a night and spend time with my kids than run an extra hour or 2 a week. There are always way to find more time.

Yup. Priorities. It’s not all about running.

Doing Salem Oregon 70.3 on Sunday. Super excited to see how the 13.1 plays out. I have stuck to the triphasic plan close enough to feel confident. Of course, I am already a champion in my mind but cannot wait to negative split the run Sunday.

@@runelitecoach Personal best in a half ironman overall time! I did not hit my goal of 4:45 but did 4:51. I ran 4 secs on avg faster then what my goal of 8:30 pace per mile! I did not negative split per say but was close. It was more even then anything. Incredible since I had a torn groin injury from last year and was coming off of 4 months training. Thanks for the book!

This is a really cool video. Question, I'm going through achilles problems right now, as a 14 yo. I was doing 55 miles a week right before i got hurt. Taken 4 weeks at 25 miles. Doesn't hurt during the run. Hurts when I apply pressure on the bone of the heel. I have a nearly 400 day run streak. Can I keep running or would that probably put me out for the XC season?

You can keep running but I’d omit all speed and run only super slow. For a 14 yo it’s going to be much slower than you’re likely used to. Do that until it’s bettter. Of course diet is the driver of healing. You can also rehab it. Stretch your soleus and temporarily increase the drop of the shoe

@@runelitecoach Ok. My diet is pretty good. No seed oils, not corn syrups, no additives. All the meat i eat is home grown. I run barefoot, but have been wearing some shoes with 2mm heal lifts. I've been rehabing it as well. Current 2 mile PR is 11 mins. I usually run like 7:50s, but have been doing 8:30s. Is that good, or should I run slower? Thanks!

Sounds like Sever's disease my man. It may not fully resolve till your growth plate at the heel fuses. Foam roll your calf a lot, take a lot of zinc and vitamin D (or get sun), see a physician.

@@RonanRunsif it is Sever's and not the achilles you'll want to ditch the lifts to reduce impact on the heel
@RonanRuns4 ай бұрын
@@fenderOCG you might be right!!! Bc it's always the heel bone that is sore. If it is that would be much better than Achilles tendonitis.
