I have them! As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten more which I love because my grandma had so many on her face and neck. Reminds me of her when I see them.

Hi! I hope you read through the comments, I did, because Ives’s looking for the answer to your question. Two people had the correct answer: those skin tags are due to resistant metabolic changes due to poor diet. Basically, your glucose levels have been consistently too high. You may be eating/snacking too frequently; eating too much; eating high sugar index foods; not doing moderate-to-difficult exercising; not walking off glucose spikes after each meal; increased stress. I used to have them, had doctor remove two. My doctor told me educated me about insulin resistance and glucose. I changed diet to low carbs/ intermittent fasting and stopped drinking milk and sweetened drinks, esp coffee. The tags started to fall off on their own and I didn’t get new ones. I hope you consider this message, do some research about skin tags and talk with your doctor. These tags are not normal growths and can be decreased with some practical changes. ❤

It’s not just because of the pregnancies per se, although that could be why there are more of them. A lot of Melanated women get those skin tags with increased age. ❤I have them and have 0 kids

I've heard that skin tags can also be linked to insulin resistance and/or diabetes. Makes sense since people tend to observe more skin tags as they age. Also if women develop gestational diabetes during pregnancy, they are more likely to develop Type II diabetes later in life. Pregnancy is demanding and changes so much in our bodies. The AA population is vulnerable to the conditions listed above. Anyways, this is one of many possibilities I thought I'd share.

I have them as well and have gotten more of them in pregnancy as well. I love them because they remind me that I'm looking more and more like my mommy when she was my age. But yes also if they are unsafe I would get them removed. But as of now they aren't and I absolutely adore them 😍. I love being a black woman ❤

The blood flow from pregnancy causes them. You can go to a dermatologist to have them removed if you'd like. You're so beautiful!! Sunscreen helps.

I love these marks and it's beautiful that they grow as you're pregnant. I'm black and I have always had a few but got more when I was pregnant with my son and I didn't know this

I've gotten some w' age. I would say they come from the "melanated" side of my family (I'm biracial as well). A lot of the elders + adults in the caribbean have them. These papulosa marks 2 me seem a bit different to freckles. The ppl I know both white or mixed that have freckles, usually the concentration of their freckles start from the nose + spreads out whereas these papulosa often form around the cheeks, temples, eyes + chest/neck. It's def a genetic thing.

I use nail clippers and clip them off when they first come so they don’t grow. Probably not the best idea but it works 😂

I started getting them randomly around a year or two ago and I couldn’t name them and whenever I went to the doctor they would just say it’s fine and I never knew what they were! Thank you!

I'm a dark skinned woman and I have skin tags around my necks, arm pits and face. I seen them on white people too. One accidentally got torn off from a bag strap and it hasn't grown back. I recently started using sunscreen but not regularly. I had often wondered if they were cancer related because of sun exposure, but I haven't done much research.

The EXACT same thing happened to me. The moles quadrupled with each pregnancy. 😢 On my neck, my chest, under my breast. It’s too much lol
