Do You Have to Live in LA or New York to Work in Film?

Today I discuss if you need to live in New York or Los Angeles to properly work in the film industry and go over why I chose not to live in either of those cities. However they might be the right fit for you! What do you think?

I live in Los Angeles and it is an easier place to find actors than a small or medium city but it’s a stressful city to live in 😓. The infrastructure and transportation is horrible so you’ll need to have a car. The traffic is so congested and exhausting since you’ll be stuck in it for an hour. It’s also super hard to land a PA or AD gig too since a lot of people who didn’t make it like to gatekeep. I love what you said at 5:12 - 5:22. I’ve learned that moving here..

It's a hard thing, through my current job, we're hoping to make more sustainable career opportunities for filmmakers where location doesn't matter as much and you can live somewhere that is closer to family and easier to live if that is what you value. Too many people have to give up important things in their life only to have a CHANCE to make it in the industry.
