Do you know JOEY NICEFORO? Watch his incredible version of ABBA's "The winner takes it all"

It is very rare to find a classically trained singer - like a proper tenor or soprano - who can cover contemporary style music well. I normally get a huge pain when opera singers sing pop songs, because they sing it in the same vocal application as they do their classical repertoire. And it DOESN'T WORK!
Enter Joey Niceforro, an original member of "The Canadian Tenors", who walked away from tenor groups and ventured into a solo career. In 2018 he released a stunning album called "Priceless", orchestrated for full symphony orchestra, and recorded in the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. And I think it is so beautiful...

Hi John! Wow thank you so much for your kind words! Loved hearing your feedback and your take on the entire piece! You made my day! lol To answer a few of your questions, the original arrangement was done with just piano and violin and arranged by myself and an incredible pianist and friend, Roy Tan (you can hear it on my EP album called ‘Live like horses’. We gave it to Steve Sidwell and he created this incredible orchestral arrangement ❤ Other question was if I sang it live of the floor… I had recorded a few pieces in the booth just off to the side before this one, and as we were about to start Steve said why don’t I come in and sing it with the orchestra…what you see in the video is me performing with the orchestra for the first time in the room… the performance felt so authentic and real that we kept as much of it as we could (I was very emotional haha) ❤ Thanks also for such a thoughtful and kind review 🙏❤️

joey grew up on Michelle drive in Hanmer ON. My parents lived next door. My Mother used to sit outside and listen to joey when he practiced in their screen room. she loved him. the name is pronounced Nice - a - for- oh. thanks for this.

My husband is a voice teacher that has guided students with classical training (Opera Australia )to sing contemporary music. They have a great foundation of course but yes it can be a challenge to switch styles so having an experienced coach to guide can really help. This performance is gorgeous. A nice balance.
