Thin mints! I recently had foot surgery so I'm off my feet for awhile. My husband has been doing the grocery shopping, and came home last weekend with 2 boxes of thin mints. Yay! They didn't last very long...

Thin Mints. Remember selling them door to door when $0.50 /box. Years later stored many boxes in freezer and would pull out to serve to guests only to find empty boxes as kids had eaten contents!! LOL! 😂

Same with me...sold them for 50 cents a box. When my daughter became a scout I believe they were $2 to $2,50 a box. Today paying $5.

My mother got so tired of us kids raiding her frozen cookies that she would count the homemade cookies she made and put the total on a piece of paper on top of the cookies when she put them in the freezer. Made it much more difficult to steal them from them on.

Me to. We trudged through the snow going door-to-door carrying a big box with all the flavors for people to choose from. When the price increased above 50 cents a box, they gave us little charts to tell us how much 2, 3, etc. boxes would cost. I loved thin mints. Did you always have sandwich cookies left over because nobody wanted to buy them?

My son was born on the 17th of February, too, in the back seat of our car on the way to the hospital. Yep. I don't mess around. Three years later, I gave birth to my daughter at home in bed. Both births were fast, less than 20 minutes. Love doing the breakfast club. Everyone's blocks are so cute.

I have been a quilter for over 25 years. It’s become my passion now that I am retired. The biggest reason I have been watching your channel is that you go beyond the machine stitching part of it. As an example, your tutorial on appliqué today was fantastic! Keep up the lessons. We are never too old to learn new techniques!😊❤ By the way, I finished my Barn Quilt Sampler and it’s at the spa ~ what a fun quilt!

Thank you so much for the close-up shots. I have used different machines over the years for applique. They do have their own personality, it seems. Some would leave a looser stitch if I were to "interrupt" the sequence. I will have to experiment with my newer Janome, and try for those "perfect" points. Thank you so much!

Thin mints has always been my favorite, but they have come out with a new one that has come close to thin mints. I think they are called TagAlongs and they are so good! I will still buy the Thin Mints though. Also, thanks for the mini lesson on how to applique points. That is always a tough spot. I was almost there. I opted a couple of times to change the length of stitch (not the “bite”) on the machine and that worked, but it would be easier to just move the fabric a little with the needle up. I was afraid it would get out of line if I lifted the pressure foot when the needle up. I’ll give that a try. Great video!

This has been a most informative tutorial today. I am enjoying this sew a long so much. I really need to consider a new machine. My blanket stitch is that double stitch before the bite. Frustrating especially when there are 60 stitches most I've never tried. I just love GS thin mints and Samoas (some areas call them caramel delites). Yum yum. I haven't gotten any since I retired in 2015! Maybe I'll have to check out the girl scouts that set up a table by some of the stores.

I'm going to try to applique my 12" x 12" mini heart quilt. I'm new to this, so I think I've made a mistake in starting. The blocks are 3" square and the heart is 2 1/2". I started by cutting the square 3 1/2" and then fused the hearts centered within the square. Now, I'm ready to do the applique, but I think I should have left the background square larger and then cut after I did the applique. We'll see how many I need to "do over" after I try.
