Great explanation! I love your videos. I am watching them as I study for my NNP boards to help make difficult concepts more understandable. It helps me explain things more clearly to parents and when I am precepting new employees while I am still working as a NICU bedside nurse. I am a visual learner and I find your videos super helpful! Thank you for all you do:) You are making a difference!

I am so glad to hear I can help out. What do you do in the NICU?

Thank you for all these videos. I really appreciate the time you’ve taken to make them. In the future could you make a video with different conventional modes in the NICU. Volume Guarantee and NAVA specifically. Thank you! The oscillator videos are awesome 🤯

Do you mean loops, such as volume vs pressure loops or do you have another thing in mind?

Hey Doc, we have a 28 weeker 920 gram on a jet HF ventilator. He is resisting it due to discomfort causing a rise in Co2. He also has a PDA. Any suggestions?

Sorry for really late answer. I missed this question somehow. Also, I cannot give individual medical advice on social media. Sometimes light sedation is needed with fentanyl or versed or morphine to help the ventilator work and to make the infant comfortable. But should be kept as a PRN and to a minimum

Which one is better for PPHN?
@thenicudoc8 ай бұрын
It'll depend on the etiology...so it's due to PIE with elevated CO2, then Jet....Meconium aspiration syndrome for example, best to use Oscillator.
