Do you like extra turns and infinite damage? My opponents didn’t | Jeskai Combo | 71% Win Rate

Today we’re revisiting the surprise combo deck I introduced the other day. It looks and plays like a standard Jeskai Control deck, until the end when it reveals that it’s actually a secret combo deck. We start copying Invasion of Arcavios with Doppelgang, launching into multiple extra turns and finishing them with a giant burn spell, leaving their head spinning as to what just happened! If you saw the last video, this version features an updated and improved list (in particular, the sideboard is optimized for efficiently completing the combo). If you didn’t see the last video - you are in for a treat! I’ll introduce everything throughout.

Cheat sheet for anyone trying the deck -- here are the steps for an efficient combo win: • Cast Invasion at some point. Get Doppelgang. • Get to 9 mana (or 10 if you don't have Celestus and only have Grotto) • Doppel for 2 (8 mana). Choose Invasion and a land that produces red and enters untapped. • Get: Doppel back from GY. Get Gambit from side board. • Cast Gambit (using 1 mana left over, plus two new land tokens) • Next turn, Doppel for 3. Choose Invasion and 2 lands that enter untapped (at least one red) • Get: Doppel back from GY. Gambit from side board. Defabricate from sideboard. • Cast Gambit (ONLY for 3! Not full price). Add a stop to your second main and end step. • Counter the Gambit trigger with Defabricate • Next turn: Doppel for 5, choosing Invasion and 4 lands. This actually generates mana. • Get Doppel back. Get Light Up the Night. Get whatever else. • Burn them out with Light Up the Night. If they have more than 20 life, Doppel for 5 again (inlcuding one Grotto). Either repeat until you have enough for Light Up to be lethal, or just start cycling Helixes over and over with all those Invasion triggers. • Smile.

It's not actually as complicated as this makes it seem, but in the heat of the moment it's easy to lose track, so I figured people might appreciate a very precise guide. The good news is that unless your opponent has counter spells (or Hullbreaker! Ha!), or a Field of Ruin, this is very hard to interact with, so it's basically a guaranteed win once you start.

Oh wow, to be honest I was so shocked it resolved (and so drained from such a grueling game), it did not even cross my mind to copy Hullbreaker, but I really wish I had! That would have been a glorious and fitting way to end the game. Great call!

Yeah that was a bummer. I mean, I get it, it's really tough to lose a long, hard-fought game like that, especially when (I assume) you feel like you've just locked it up with your Hullbreaker. But if you _are_ going to lose a game like that, losing to this fun wild combo has to at least be the most fun way to go, right? I never condone a roping, but c'mon, maybe you rope a boring Jace mill, but you don't rope a Light Up the Night for 25 after two extra turns! Anyhow, well done making it to the end! You tried one Zurgo and a coupke of restless anchorage for a damage win? Its been working for me using this deck mostly alas mobile only so much of a combo

It's hard to fit more tap lands in, and I think I prefer the Surveil to the Restless in that slot. I actually did put one Z&O in here as a backup win con when I was first updating the list, but I ended up taking it out at some point -- I can't exactly remember why. I do think it probably would be worth trying to squeeze it back in somehow as a bit of an insurance policy. Not a bad way to try to dig to or set up the combo as well, in some matchups.
