@@Triplebrc I think it also has to do with Astas childhood and upbringing. He was an orphan in a poor village and looked down upon for having no mana. He's used to being considered a "loser". He is definitely not used to people liking him so much let alone being attracted to him. Noelle and Mimosa are royalty so he's probably just happy they like him as a friend and comrade. Having all these people like him (regular like) is newer to him and he's pleased with it. He most likely thinks some beautiful royal would never be in to him like that so it's not easy for him to get there.

If you replace the word "trust" with "love" throughout his entire statement then you'll see how well it fits. Something else I didn't fully think about during this episode was how much I appreciated the fact that Charlotte's squad was encouraging her to be proactive and ask Yami out herself as opposed to the standard trend of trying to get the guy to ask THEM...but in y defense, I was distracted by something much more important than that.
