I've got one of these Liz. A great piece of kit. A bit lightweight on windy days but being generally a fair weather plein airer that's only a problem for me if I'm a wildcard on LAOTY on a bad day and just have to grin and bear it. Remember Blackpool. I ended up tying the easel to a bench and that seemed to work. One thing about the legs worth mentioning. You don't have to extend then all the same distance so if you're on uneven ground or the side of a hill, not a problem. As for the palette shelf, I keep it clean. Just use it as a shelf and mix paint in the lid of my Mijello watercolour palette instead. Had to search around a bit before I found a backpack that was big enough to fit both the white plastic bits but I found one in the end. Now I venture out in the summer with everything in the backpack except for the water that I carry in my hand in an old plastic milk bottle. If you're out shopping for a backpack, remember to take those plastic bits with you for size checking. If they fit in with a bit of breathing room then everything else probably will too.

I have not worked outside for quite some time as I have been unable to get all of my supplies out with me without the afore mentioned donkey or similar pack animal or energetic human accompaniment! Although it it wonderful Meeden asked you to advertise their product and offered a 10% discount, I still say it isn't worth the price. It's a $15.00 tripod with $2.00 worth of plastic shelving. I'd suggest investing in a proper tripod, a sheet of plywood and a saw. That way one could create any set up they want and still come out half the price of that meeden set up. Just my opinion.
