So I brought FLX4 to learn to dj downloaded rekordbox free but it says trial on the software when using it it looks like it’s only given me 30 days. Does it just go to a free version after that or do I need to do something? Sorry noob here

The FLX-4 is a hardware unlock device so most core features will remain for you after the trial ends. The box that says trial will change to ‘free plus’

I operate XDJ 700 via USB at a community radio station. I prepare my list at home using the 6.8.5 version of Rekordbox; same as over there. Would I need to get on a subscription plan if I use Rekordbox 7?

Why my rekordbox free in my mac is no sound output when i plug in the cdj3000 and djm a9. it can read the tracks but no sound output? Do i need to purchase rekordbox? Thanks in advance

Probably more about downloading drivers for dj’s a9.

I would agree. This will be to do with the drivers and settings within rekordbox I think.

Only you can answer that question. If it meets all your requirements and you have done your research to ensure that all the features are what you want then go for it!

I wish i could just get a set up that analyzes the track from usb without the internet or rekordbox. Think record crates and turn tables, Plug in the usb, the controller analyzes, you dj. Is this even possible?

When you plug in the device while rekordbox is open it should prompt you to link rekordbox with that device changing the free trial icon in the top right to free plus. It must be a hardware unlock device to do this.

In performance mode why would you not get some of the effects. You are stil using the controller which has all of the effects on it. So confused

All depends on what controller you are using. For controllers with the effects in the mixer you are fine however more entry level ones like the FLX-4 you are purely reliant on the software

I use Interface 2 for DVS which is a hardware unlock device. However it looks like I need to pay for the Core subscription for this to work on Rekordbox 7. I only mix music for my own enjoyment so will stick with version 6. I guess newbies will get stung to have version 7. The creative package is interesting to edit tracks, but £21 a month is costly when mixing is just for fun..

Are you sure about recording and sharing mixes. This is not checked in the list of what you get for the free + cloud package.

I have never paid for rekordbox and if you watch my tutorials on the FLX-4 all the audio for the videos is recorded on rekordbox. If you are using a hardware unlock device then you can record.

, I wish there were more help videos on this stuff, and a phone number to reach someone live. So I went digital in 2019-20 from analog. The translation was hard for me because I didn’t understand what the heck I’m doing with computers sometimes. So I decided to buy ddj-400 and in 2022 I got a new phone number, moved and had controller and MacBook stolen 😢. Since I have rek dvs 2 ddj-xp2 and djm 600 Well I can’t seem to figure out what happened to me!?

I had been paying for rek box and SoundCloud for years and recently been double charged one time tried to triple charge me. So I’m getting ready to pop 300$ on rek pro subscription and then I looked at my account and, last payment was 2022 and it’s almost 2025. I haven’t paid yet because now alpha is stating that any deleted account will expell your account and can not be charged

Like you said, I only ever used free rekordbox to load USBs for playing out as every venue has pioneer cdjs. Other than that I just drag and drop into cdjs via link mode. It’s always been solid and stable to use like that But I’m lucky that I don’t have to use a Rekordbox Controller and are forced to use it in performance mode.
