Christ Way Church welcomes you to hear a powerful message from Pastor Annu Mahesh. The title is “Do you often feel weak and tired? You need strength from unity”.
In Jeremiah 31.25, we read,” For I will satisfy the weary soul and every languishing soul I will replenish”. We are not meant to rely on our own strength but to soar high above with the power of God. We receive supernatural strength and power as we wait upon the lord with expectancy to live powerfully and wisely through all our struggles. Still, one of the primary tools that God uses to give us strength is unity with each other in the body of Christ. In Ecclesiastes 4.12, we read,” Though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him, a threefold cord is not quickly broken”. This scripture explains the strength that comes from unity. The use of three strands symbolises a complete unity. Three is often considered as a symbol of completeness or unity in biblical literature. The interdependence of three strands explains a system of mutual support. Each strand contributes to its overall strength.
Our life is filled with challenges, obstacles and trials. When we unite with other people our collective strength multiplies rapidly. Jesus prayed for all of us to be one. What happens when we stand together in unity? We will never be selfish. We care for others whom God has reconciled to himself through the local church. We need correction from growing believers. Galatians 6.2 says,” Bear one another’s burden and so fulfil the law of Christ “. Each one has to bear his own burden. It is God’s principle that if we bear other’s burden only, we can bear our own burden. We get strength from Christ’ body. The law of Christ is love and care for one another. If we fulfil the law of Christ, we receive strength for ourselves. We should admonish, encourage and provoke each other to obey and grow in Christ. Proverbs 27.17 says,” Iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another”. The time we spend with each other has the potential to mould us. Don’t sharpen iron with butter or paper otherwise it will break. God will use only those who are becoming stronger and stronger. They are like iron. Every part of the body should be joined together in unity, like muscles and bones inside our body. God’s family is an organised and disciplined family. We have to encourage each other to meet together and stir each other up for love and good works. Thus, unity in Christ’ body provides strength, serenity, calmness, comfort, goodness and success. Let’s make iron friends and be an iron to other people.
