Yes those idol contracts are like signing a slavery contract. They give alot of money to debut the idol, train them and promote them but when the idols start making money it all goes to the company to pay the debts. Some takes 5 years to pay all the debt and that's why only a few idols actually earn a worthy salary other than that they all live in dorms in which the company pays making more debts to the idols so yeah tough life

@jonathan Man what you say is not true and cannot be a base for comparison. Both stray kids and snsd were from the Big 3 companies. They have strong PR teams, big budgets and already had a strong fanbase before members left. On the other hand, laboum didnt have a strong fanbase. After yulhee left, the girls couldnt continue the "cute" image they had before, this was obvious if you compare their music (before and after). The switch in music also led to further problems and given that laboum was not from a large company, it was difficult for better handling of the scandal back then. The girls had no strong fanbase, less budget than the groups you mentioned and did not have much comebacks after the scandal. Finally, i respect that everyone has their own opinions but to say that the other members are lacking and useless is overly harsh and uncalled for. Many unknown groups in the industry (for example, brave girls) were just simply not given the chance/spotlight until much later because they were from smaller companies. Some groups even never get recognised right until their disbandment. But this doesnt mean that they are untalented. They have much less resources from the groups who came from large companies. For example, itzy, red velvet all have a decent fanbase in their debut stage and twice/straykids even had their survival shows predebut so that more people will know them. Thus, please reconsider and analyse the situation before you simply label others as useless. They are many factors for a successful group. You need resources, strong music, strong producer team, the right timing, the stroke of luck etc. E.g. If you take any of the members from the groups you mentioned and placed them into an unknown group, they may not have what they have today because the starting point is already different. Thats just very naive. Kpop isnt an industry about the idols themselves, it is about the entire industry from the million dollars company, the company brand, the networks and connections. It would be myopic to think that a successful group is due to the members themselves solely. Without budget, you can hardly have comebacks. Without networks and strong base, you can hardly go onto shows like running man to promote yourself. Without resources, your stage/makeup/clothing sets are of different levels which make the visual aspects entirely different. Ya, so please understand that the industry is not just about the idols and do not dismiss them just because they are not popular lol
