First is a professor of clinical psychiatry, Columbia University, and research psychiatrist, New York State Psychiatric Institute.
Dr. First is the Editorial and Coding Consultant for the DSM-5, the chief technical and editorial consultant on the World Health Organization's ICD-11, and is an external consultant to the NIMH Research Domain Criteria project. He was the Editor of the DSM-IV-TR, the Editor of Text and Criteria for DSM-IV and the APA's Handbook on Psychiatric Measures.
In this lecture he gives an introduction to the differences between ICD-11 Classification of Mental and Behavioural Disorders and the DSM-5.
