Desi and Deivide you are doing a fantastic job with the financial resources that you have it is really beautiful what you have been able to do with the Barn. I can see that you have many fans and followers on the channel and I hope that we can all support your content even more greatly showing our appreciation for your efforts by watching the ads that KZbin is posting within the videos because I understand that the ads can generate a source of revenue for many KZbin channels. I hope that what I do is helping a bit. I typically watch the ads of 30 seconds to 3 minutes but after that I usually say that KZbin is doing too much 😂. Just so you know I really appreciate everything that you are doing with the form of encouragement and entertainment and being a KZbin channel video pals. Thank you 😊.

The old tiles make it look more authentic. Nothing wrong with functional, aged tiles. Beautiful, really, and blends in with the environment. I think the storks approve.

Wow, David and Desi, this video seemed like I was watching an old style Disney family movie! The cinematography, aerial views, and epic music score were on point! And let's not forget your costars, the storks! They're just as much a part of the family and farm life as you all! I loved the scene before the storm came as the barn lights came on, and the stork came to tell everyone it was quitting time and may we all get to bed, please?! ❤

I'm happy to know you got roof tiles back on before the big rain came. I saw the little goaties out in the pasture with the whole herd. They are fitting in just fine. The little boy got up and walked on his own Dessey! Very sweet :) I hope you will finish the drip edge, custom brake metal, and flashing in addition to the shed dormer siding before you start another project. What happened to the shed addition to the barn for all of your dry wood? That was started before the second floor dormer addition was even mentioned. Footer piers and header beam built and rafter lumber bought (I think). Aren't you going to erect it? You must restore the roof over your barn walls and wooden structure or the mud walls will collapse and the old wooden beams will rot.

Hi there please note that the self drilling screw you showed is for metal you need to use the self drilling one for timber it has a sharp point for drilling into wood to secure your roof tiles the metal tipe tends to strip out from the wood with strong winds.

Why did you decide to go up and down with the waterproofing? Most would start at bottom and overlap so if water got through run it would run down the waterproofing without seeping or taping

Probably because of the type of structure David is working on. This is not your typical modern build with cheap pressed sawdust sheathing wherein the method you describe is preferable. As well using your method how would he be able to climb while installing the tiles ?
@jaunteraudi817
@jaunteraudi817 2 ай бұрын
@@dlaitch No, its easy, membrane should be placed only horizontal. In this case, there will be problems with moisture. I would start from the top of the roof and make my way down setting each membrane layer under each other, so moisture would definitely drop down, then starting from bottom to the top = another wood framing for roof tiles must be built, and while setting roof tiles, you could walk and maneuver on that framing without damaging membrane, then roof tiles and job done, it would take maybe 100 euros for another frame, but problems with moisture would be solved immediately. In this case how they built it -duc tape wont hold for a long time, maybe two summers, and some moisture will drip into the building, some will make its way down, but....sadly there will be problems with this roof.

You know that the roof membranes must have a gap betveen the roof covering? That's why membranes should be placed on the rafters not on the cross-lattice. In your case, the membrane will not ventilate and may start to mold and damage wood parts due to moisture
