I love this rod. I have the 704 and use it as my bottom contact rod. Super sensitive tip and plenty of back bone. Dobyn's Fury's power ratings run a whole power light so for anyone looking into these rods don't go by the label go by the last number. 3 is M, 4 is MH, 5 is H. I also have the 663 and 735. I've tried a lot of rods in the $100-$150 price range and these by far are my favorite rods in that price point and fish better than some of the $150+ rods I've tried.

Thanks humberg really appreciate it because I'm going with the fury series and the sensitivity is the only thing I was worried about. But I've also read alot of reviews and watched Alot of review videos. This really helped me out big time. I wanted to mention something about dobyns rod's they are very well balanced and that's how you get the most sensitivity out of a rod . Also carbon fiber has way better hook setting power, sensitivity, lightness, than regular graphite. Thanks again for the video excellent job bud have a great fishing season this year and God bless you and your family your pal fisherman Mike from Missouri.

Joseph Battista Both are amazing, the 733c is just a bit softer. If your throwing more jerkbaits and finnesish presentations the 733c would be better. For jigs, senkos, and frogs the 734c is definitely the go to. Hope this helps and glad u enjoyed the video!

Would you recommend this versus the 733 if I needed something to put like a 16 pound floral carbon on and use for lightweights up to midsize Jigs? Or do you think the 734 would be perfect for that thank you much.

Thank you for the review. I was considering a BPS Carbonlite 2.0 with the Winn grips. But I think I’ll get the Fury 734-c, after seeing your review. Have you tried the 703?? Those Winn grips felt like they would be really good to grip with wet hands but quality, sensitivity and weight are more important to me.

Omen Black is much lighter and sensitive, however not as durable as the Fury. I haven’t used a bass x before but if it’s anything like the other products St. Croix makes I’m sure it’s great. Omen is personally my favorite

@@humbugvideos thank you. I have an omen black gen 2 in medium power and love it over several lews I have had. My fenwick hmx was close but I still liked the omen. I also like the 13 fishing ooops policy being in a kayak there is risk (like any fishing) so a new rod for 1/2 price is nice if a mistake happens.

AcousticSoul1989 It would work ok if you had a nicer reel to bomb one out there. With my Metanium dc it does it fine but I prefer using the 733c which is the rod below this. Casts it much easier

How does it do with zoom super flukes? I got the DC702C medium fast action it’s rated at 3/16 - 5/8oz . Would like it to have just a little more back bone . The 733 medium heavy is rated at 1/4-3/4oz and the 734 heavy is rated at 1/4-1oz . Leaning towards the 734 , because it might be a little better for all purpose ??

Justin The 733c does better with flukes for sure, however if your throwing them through grass and cover u may want to use this one instead cause it’s got more backbone. Hope this helps!

Humbug Outdoors Fishing it might just be one of those situations where I end up getting both . I don’t want to get rid of my 702c I do like it . I sold my St. Croix mojo medium , and now that I have my 702 champion I’d say the mojo felt more medium heavy , and the 702’champion feels closer to medium lite. Thank you for the reply , any other advice would be appreciated .

I have a 703c Fury. It’s light. Good for topwater treble baits, small t rigs, light spinnerbaits, etc. I know this comment is old and you probably already figured it out.

If you like that rod you would be in heaven using the Champion series 734. Trust me I have 2 of them. I find the fury series heavy meaning the weight of the rod and the balance piont. You get that Champion in your hands and it's like you're not even holding a rod. There is no better feeling in the world on finding a rod that can cover almost all of your lures.
