If you have any. The Transformers Prime figures. People praise things like Energon, armada or animated toys. But i never see videos on how great the TFP toys were. Even beast hunters had bangers

It could be in concept, in engineering or any other factors you can think of...or maybe there's a figure or two in your collection that checks all those boxes at once. Im trying to collect all of them, nothing in Transformers interests me nearly as much as these original designs. The sort of middle ground between the hyper detailed, militaristic dangerousness of the Bayverse aesthetic and the cleaner, more toy/engineering-friendly Generations aesthetic of the time. in Hunt For The Decepticons especially they nailed it. Terradive is one of the sickest robot designs ever, ROTF Mindwipe is probably my favorite transformer. Such an incredible era

For the copyright reusage bit: you actually missed one bit. The largest chunk of the Transformers Prime toyline, the one after the First Edition and before the Beast Hunters, which is actually called... wait for it... Transformers Prime - Robots in Disguise.

Totally agree on the subject of original characters, I feel like brand synergy kind of killed the fun a bit, I especially loved how they filled out the 07 and ROTF lines with transformers that turned into vehicles humans used, I always thought that was really clever.

When you were talking about SS86 Magnus i had similar feelings toward my Legacy Transmetal II Megatron. I never sought it out, personally, but I stumbled upon one at Target on clearance and picked it up for 30 USD. It was definitely worth it, while there are some annoyances with the head and chest sections not properly locking into place, the design and transformation is good, simple fun and the wingspan on the dragon mode is shelf centerpiece worthy.

@Rabbitlord108 I don't think so. Indies are thriving right now. Most of the triple a issues are to do with investors syphoning money away from the actual Devs, laying them off, then wondering where all their sales went. Indies and a few select publishers won't be affected.

Re: Pre-ordering Patience I’ve never understood selling off an older figure because a newer version of the character is coming out. Yes, shelf space is limited, but storage is a thing. Though, if you truly lack the space, I’m not talking to you. It’s the ones who only want one version of a specific character. First, I look at each version as its own thing. Siege Ultra Magnus and SS86 Ultra Magnus are two different characters, with similarities in my mind. I guess it’s from being a DC comics fan where every character has analogues on, well, infinite Earths. Second, every figure is its own thing. The transformations are slightly different, the look has minor differences. I have Mainline and SS RotB Optimus Prime and love them both for different reasons. If I want an easier transformation, it’s Mainline, if I want a more intricate transformation, it’s SS. If I want a better truck mode, I’m going for Mainline. Etc. Third, I definitely love having a shelf of all similar figures. The top of my dresser has most of my Optimus Primes (Legacy United Armada Optimus Prime lives with the other Legacy Armada figures). Most of them are in truck mode, like a fleet ready to roll out. But, ultimately, I have a place in my life for multiple versions of the same character, which is why I’ve never understood selling off an older figure because a newer version of the character is coming out.

The grill on Tfo optimus aint bad. It’s not like ER Cliff where it’s absolutely necessary (hell, ive lost mine) but it just kinda completes it (like Kingdom Warpath)

Haha thats funny, I find Magmatron to be the best, or at-least my favorite. Although I still want the Rodimus mold (begging for a black repaint). The commander class line truly has been very good than if the figure ranking is debatable!

I'd say Magmatron is the best Commander just from a creative standpoint. For example, Prime was an easy one to do since it's a safe option with just a good base figure and a mediocre trailer with a flawed but decent combined mode. Menasor, while extremely flawed with the individuals that make up him and the end result, was a good take on a combiner and was ALSO a safe option taking the 3rd party approach of the trailer being the body. Jetfire is the SAFEST one. Just a big figure, that's it. But Magmatron? They had to take three completely different parts, each with their own good and bad points and make it work with minimal parts forming and honestly? I think they knocked it out of the damn park.
