Ah. Good old CEmt cars. I remember back in the 90's when we used to take the trip to Helsinki in these.

Ah the nostalgy. Last time I've been traveling in a sleeper car was in 2002 or so, at that time I was a little boy. This January we are going to do it all again and the cabins are reserved from the old CEmt cars! Reunited after 22 years

The Škoda Transtech manufacturing is in Otanmäki, Kajaani. It was a mining town that ran out of ore and the present railway engine and car industry is a replacement from the 1985s, initially in Finnish hands.

@doc7austin10 ай бұрын
As Finnish train run on Russian broad gauge, I believe the beds are a bit longer than on other European sleeping cars; the bed length was at least 2 meters

Beds are 2 meters long and 75cm wide
@onnirant2 ай бұрын
@@doc7austin Exactly 2 meters. They are 200x75 cm in the newer sleeper cars, 190x84 cm in the old ones. If you're travelling in the old cars, taller people should take the top bunk since you can get some extra leg/head space from the luggage shelf.

Lovely footage. I just wonder how do car owners get to the train? Do they drive in by themselves or they leave it to the personnel?
@doc7austin9 ай бұрын
Have a look at minute 24:20 ; car owners drive their cars onto the auto-carrying rail cars; these railcars are then shunted and attached to the passenger train
