This is, by far, the best docker tutorial you will ever find in the universe as well as all other parallel universes out there. This is after searching for a good tutorial for over a week. Hi! An awesome session for a beginner like me. I have few doubts: 1. How do we allocate physical resources like cpu, memory or disk to a docker container? 2. How do we achieve a docker volume persistence between different machines. Lets say if a developer needs to transfer the image to a tester, then how will the data on the docker volume be copied? Good session. However 1 issue I faced while building docker file - It got stuck after asking geographic location. Solution is to add - ARG DEBIAN_FRONTEND=non-interactive in dockerfile.

Thanks NavinKiran, Container Orchestration needs a client-server architecture. For that you would need multiple nodes. You can also work on single node, that is just one master. If you want multiple nodes, yes you can use virtual machines

One suggestion- explain what each command does! ie $sudo apt-get update (this updates Ubuntu to latest version...). I think it is better if people know what the commands do rather than blindly typing in a recipe of commands. Very good video

Can we Restart the container once it is stopped by "sudo docker stop " 1. I created a container. 2. exit from container 3. i executed "sudo docker stop The container can be seen by "sudo docker ps -a".

its really a nice video.. Sir can you suggest how can i create a user in ubuntu container and set bash profile for that.. actually i want to create a user then set bash profile in that.. that under that user i want to install java and apache and i want to put my war file inside webapps of apache directory.. then i want to run that application from that user.. and finally i want to create a new image of all complete steps i performed so that next time when i want to run my new image i should get entire package of my web application.. would be highly appreciated pls suggest
