Nice docking, 👍it appears there was about 10 to 12 knot crosswind by the drop in the flag I notices as you were coming in to dock You may want to consider staying on the tiller and by throttle when docking. Use a touch of reverse to stop the boat in the slip instead of jumping on the dock manually stopping it, which can be dangerous. Just a suggestion, you may want to rig a spring line on the dock that your wife can pick up with boat hook and put on a forward wrench to help stop the boat and assist bring it against the dock. I raced a 40 ft Rboat, open cockpit, full keel, 17,000 lbs, no motor, 6.5 ft beam, 6.3 ft draft, 52 ft mast, partial rig, 22 ft boom, and 17 inches of freeboard, in a fleet of 6 with crew of five. Sailing her in and out of a dock 1/2 mile up a river from Lake Erie with rental paddle board and kayaks on a beat was interesting to say the least. After 60 years of racing sailboats, I decided a change was due, I bought an adventure motorcycle.

Thank you for the suggestions. I may give the spring line a go in the future. Have done reversing the motor before but given the weight of the boat (5000 pounds), I am able to control it from the dock before it blows sideways and the extra step of reversing the motor and then stepping off didn't work for me. My neighbor has a heavier boat, and reversing is the way he does it.
