That is an amazing product. I don’t believe I need one for my single 175 Suzuki 4-stroke on my deck boat, but will strongly consider for my next boat, which will most likely be a 28’-32’ lake cruiser with twin engines. Your KZbin tutorials and testimonials are captivating!

@@Andrico77 Need isn't the correct term here. Since boats have existed for thousands of years, nobody needs it but it sure increases the convenience of docking single handed. I do that sometimes with my twin engined 39 footer without this system but it would make it easier.

If you create more of these videos could you please include some information about how much thruster is available to overcome wind or current. Does it have the capability of holding the vessel in place like Mercury skyhook. Also is the Dockmate limited on trust to prevent the vessel from being driven too hard into the dock?

If you have the ability to enable the boat's dynamic positioning system (DPS) from your joystick, then the Dockmate remote can activate it. This is a remote control system that makes other hardware like thrusters and propellers work in cooperation to try to bring the boat the way you want it to go. No thursters etc. come with this system itself so that's not a question for Dockmate. What I can say is that no electric bow or stern thrusters are strong enough to overcome a really strong side wind. I guess steerable pods like Volvo Penta IPS are a lot stronger and such can also be controlled by this remote.

Ralph, thanks for your comment. Dockmate simply makes it easier to dock a boat which has poor visibility from the helm station. Once the system is activated, you can go anywhere aboard the boat and still be in confident and safe control of the boat's movement.
