Resolume Arena & Avenue (Tutorial): BPM Sync & Techniques

This tutorial is an overview of BPM Sync and shows you how to find BPM for any music or audio track in Resolume Avenue 4 or Arena 4 & 5.
The following BPM Sync techniques are covered: randomizing playback of a video clip, activating and using BeatLoopr, linking BPM Sync to effects parameters.

Hi I am working on a tour by mapping with Resolume is my first time using 3 displays, a draft of 8040x800 prollectado 3 videos on a large canvas you would imagine, but that's not important. need some advice, when I import the videos to run them resolume video bpm give it to me, for example 151 bpm and the resolume gives it usually 120 bpm when I run plays it slower, then you modify the bpm of project 151 and runs normal, but when I upload another video, say the following and comes with 127 bpm it runs very fast and entoces must return to change the bpm of the project, you know a function or setting to import my videos and run at the speed of origin without having to change the bpm video?

The only thing I can suggest is to change the number of beats to try and best match your original footage speed. Sometimes it may not match perfect due to the BPM sync, but it may be the best way in your case.

Is it possible to bpm sync visuals to live input audio for example from KZbin or live dj set.Should i use external ftp function or there is any other way.Thanks

really silly question im new to this but im using resolume for making music video for instagram and youtube but how do you record the audio with the video? @DocOptic

We use a screen recording app on the Mac called Syphon Recorder. If you're not on Mac you may want to look into something like Camtasia for Windows or try to use the Internal Recording that Resolume offers in-app. Hope this helps!

im having this strange problem where i cant get clips to play if transport is set to bpm sync. but if i start the clip with transport set to timeline and then switch to bpm sync while the clip is still playing it will switch into beat mode. but when i stop the clip and start it again (with the transport setting still set to bpm sync it again refuses to play). any thoughts? any feedback would be much appreciated. thanks!

Hi, have you tried decreasing the number of Beats? Sometimes clips can slow to a crawl if the beats are set too high.

it was actually that i had midi preferences with clock in checked. audio from clips works now but not the video, even if in the same clip. nothing is showing up in either the output monitor or the preview monitor

Pretty much. Arena comes with DMX Input, SMPTE Timecode Input, in addition to Mapping.
