Written by Kal Mann and Dave Appell, and released as a single by Chubby Checker, "Let's Twist Again" was one of the biggest hit singles of 1961, reaching No.8 on the U.S. Billboard pop chart (No.3 on Cash Box) in August 1961. It subsequently hit No.2 in the UK in the spring of 1962. The song refers to the Twist dance craze and Checker's 1960 single "The Twist", a two-time U.S. No.1 single. "Let's Twist Again" is now, here, modernized with contemporary high fidelity and with contemporary dance moves choreographed from those of Stephen & Chanzi.

In 1961 my high school classmates had a yearbook signing get together at a classmates house. One of them brought a record to play while we visited and signed each others yearbooks. That record was Let's Twist again by Chubby Checker. It was the only record we had to play, so we played it over and over all party long. To me it is a record I love and never get tired of listening to and loved hearing it over and over all party long. Thank you Chubby!

I've witnessed this at weddings for years. I'm 49 we're going to back from when I was a kid. This song would come on and my mom and all my aunts and of course all the older women. Right away twisting. Recently I was in a social event and I saw people in their 80s twisting. No joke

Oh boy do I remember dancing to this! I was born in 1959, but we heard it on the radio, and when we had sock hops at our high school. Man can I move then!! Now at 65 and a couple back surgeries 😄, I can still move my feet but the twisting isn't going to happen. 😄

А я родился в 1958 году. Родился в России. В те времена был железный занавес. И такая музыка была для нас большой редкостью. Так как власти боролись с западным влиянием на советскую молодёжь. Но русские как дети - если есть что-то запретное, то это нужно попробовать! И мы постоянно слушали запрещённые радиостанции на коротких волнах. В 1973 году мой отец купил мне магнитофон. И я стал бегать с ним по друзьям. Записывал западную музыку! Но однажды по советскому телевизору показали пародию на западную музыку. Песню в исполнении Чабби Чекккера Let's Twist Again исполняли куклы. У них были длинные волосы, они были очень смешные. В руках у них были гитары. За барабанами сидел такой же смешной персонаж. НО! звучало оригинальное исполнение. Я тогда не знал кто исполняет эту песню. Но она меня наэлектризовала! Я схватил магнитофон и стал его подключать к телевизору, чтобы записать песню. Пока я это делал, 1/3 песни уже прошла. Но всё же я успел что-то записать. С тех пор у меня магнитофон стоял рядом с телевизором. И был подключён к нему для записи. И как только я снова увидел этот номер, я уже был наготове. Номер ещё раз повторили! И я записал песню почти с самого начала! Так у меня появилась самая первая запись западного исполнителя. Причём в СССР рок-н-ролл называли злом. Прошли десятилетия. Я часто пытаюсь найти в интернете тот номер. Но именно его я так и не нашёл. Хотя нашёл другой. Это тоже была пародия. И тоже на ту же песню! Начинается видео со слов на русском языке: "Зло высмеивают студенты- кораблестроители. Они высмеивают поклонников такого искусства". Tenía 1 año cuando se estrenó esta memorable pieza musical. Me encanta todo esté tipo de música. No suele ser frecuente en la gente de mí edad. A mis compañeros y amigos les gustaba otro tipo de música..... Decían coloquialmente que mis gustos estaban un tanto pasados de moda. A lo mejor tenían y tienen razón..... Nací en 1954, pero a veces pienso, que cuando llegue al mundo, lo hice con 50 años.

As a kid this song effeted me in the film seeing all the travellers. Funny i left uk at 19 fruit picking in Greece skeeping on the beach. Lived in 10 countrys now git now idea of how many citys or town's. Now in Player del Carmen Mexico, i still giggle at ny life its been a wild ride.
