Ça n' a rien avoir avec le bruit des casseroles qu' on entend aujourd'hui. Et pourtant à l'époque les matériels que ces musiciens utilisaient sont loin d'être modernes comme aujourd'hui. Ils avaient l' art de bien faire , ils n'étaient pas attirés par l'argent comme les musiciens d'aujourd'hui. Ils traitaient les sujets de société, faisaient passer des messages. During the second half of the 1960s I was in Upper primary and custodian of the only school radio. Quietly I enjoyed music from Dr Nico. I am reminded of the time. Music from this great Congolese African musician still lives though he is long gone. RIP my brother. I wish I had a chance to see you!!.

In addition to his being a guitar virtuoso, Dr Nico was also a great song writer and music arranger/producer. Don't forget that he was a genius in the academics too; had he not pursued his musical calling, he would have obtained a PhD in a short record time. The man was a genius, that was likely why he didn't live long -- most geniuses are like shooting stars who blink at us with their brilliance and depart hurriedly, before we could capture their full essences; Bavon Marie Marie and Chantal Kazadi were other such geniuses as Nico.
