Hey guys! Kid in the video here. It was great to be able to participate in this video and talk about these things. I’m 15 now and doing good! Definitely recommend Dr. Paul Thomas.

I LOVE how Dr Paul speaks directly to the patient, not just talking to the parent. I urge my kiddo (now 19) to speak for herself. She knows better than I do how she feels and what her worries are. Bravo to Dr. Paul for this. I appreciate this young man for being open and honest in his own behalf!

Great discussion and great Dr and patient. If all doctors had the time it would be great. It seems it's when you are billing and note the time you could have seen others is the main pressure preventing good medicine practices. I don't have my own practice and try giving as much time as needed and I keep hearing the question of why other doctors don't offer them the time. I'm impressed with Dr Paul and hope he keeps practicing and being the positive role model he is.

Good on him! I did drink when I was in school (who didn’t?), but besides alcohol I didn’t touch a non-prescribed drug til I was 27. Weed because it had become recreationally legal in WA around that time and nothing else since (I’m 33 now). Got to a point in college when some of my closest friends were like “don’t even bother offering, she won’t take it.” I never had an issue hanging out in the group, it just didn’t interest me. I also have family history of addiction to many things so I’m sure that had something to do with it. Don’t ever feel like you have to do anything you don’t want to to fit in. Those same friends who stuck up for me back then are still my closest friends with over 20 years of friendship. Find the right friends and you’ll never feel pressured because they’ll never feel the need to 💖

I didnt drink, infact I am 45 years old and dont drink, maybe a wine cooler, or Sprite mixed with a little champagne, like maybe once a year if that. I have never smoked or did illegal drugs.
@MommaSkelly2 жыл бұрын
Agree 100% I drank a little socially (twenties) but never really got "drunk" because I know addictions run in my family. I didn't want to ever FEEL like I NEEDED a drink or drugs ect.... because I know a couple of family members that struggle... and that was enough for me to go Nope, no thanks. I'm 32 this year and still rarely if ever drink anything. Still not touched drugs or weed even, it's just now starting to get legalized over here so maybe I will, maybe I won't. I've heard it ain't as addictive as other things, but again if it's a FEELING I get that I like, that feeling may become addictive.

Feeling bad each time when hearing about a young thieft guy or a story of any kind of crimes committed by young people, almost always the common thing was a fatherless house, dads have been a great example and play a great role for their male sons because the challenges they overcome with their male children as a great male figure they can mimic, the wisdom they could pass. Almost always when I read a bad story of a young guy regardless the race with violent crimes etc.. I tried my best to follow the pattern and always I find myself right, no need for sociologists to admit such thing, just read a bar from a newspaper about a crime happened and connect that with their life background.

Dr P says "the young brain is more vulnerable to permanent damage." What I usually I hear physicians say that the young brain is more capable of healing from damage than the older brain. So who is correct?
