This is very true,, I am a witness as I was working in a certain hospital which I won't reavel the name. I was just a secretary and I was on a night duty shift. I then saw a young lady struggling here and there as you all know how labour pains can make you run mad. I then call the nurse on duty to go help the client but she refused telling me that huyu mama bado ako mbali eti she's just pretending. I thank God coz that night we had few patients so I was not busy. I called the nurse more than 5tym and still she refused. Do you know when I saw the head of the innocent baby coming out I offered a hand of help for just using my own mind and the baby was out safely. That's when the nurse came quarreling her very badly,, mara do you know you can die mara matusi mingi sana. Later alimushona and she went home safely the following day. It's 15years by now and that lady still remembers me with the husband too. Infact they named their baby after me. I'm happy that I help a life of two pple. I'm so sorry for this young man haky,, #justice for him 😢😢

Its not passion to treat anymore, it's salary for them. They bribe to get hired and leave the qualified ones trek looking for opportunities. Such a heartbreaking story 😢. Going to the hospital to have a baby shouldn't be a life or death situation. The total disregard shown by the nursing staff after she went into labor is deplorable. I've lost family members due to negligence and this is the one thing that gives me pause when I think of coming back home. I know that I would probably be dead by now if I was receiving medical care in Kenya. We deserve better, let's shame these hospitals until they start doing what they're supposed to be doing.

I beg to disagree this strongly. It's not the doctors problem, but a government problem. Public Hospitals are underequipped, understaffed and the few workers are overworked. It's the government's role to provide conducive environment for patients and health workers. Doctors too are human like you. They have emotions and empathy. There's no way they'll wake up in the morning to go to kill people in the hospital. And ask yourself why this is not happening in private hospitals??why is it a public Hospitals problem??

I gave birth on my own in that hospital. I called on the nurses but they couldn't come. I went straight to the labour ward nikapanda kitanda and pushed my baby out. Later they came running asking me why I have laboured for a very short time. Hapo ni Mungu tu.

I went to this hospital to my tooth.i stayed 4 hours no help.i took an uber to st.Marys hospital in Langata.i was given help in 20 minutes. Mama Lucy hospital ,harrasment starts from the gate by guard.so traumatizing. I can never go there or advice one to go there.

Woi my brother ....once you are admitted in a hospotal ,nobody will ask for your suggestions in case of an emergency .You always sign that form that gives consent to the doctors in the management of a patient.6kg baby was too big to be delivered normally.You dont induce at 8cm wrong information.Removing the uterus was a wise way to try stop post paterm haemmorage.
