Doctor reacts to President Trump's executive order on gender-affirming care

President Trump signed an executive order aimed at cutting federal support for gender transitions for people under age 19. The order directs federally-run insurance programs, including TRICARE for military families and Medicaid, to exclude coverage for gender-affirming care and calls on the Department of Justice to pursue litigation and legislation to oppose the practice.

This doctor should have her licence revoked. At 19 they can make the decision for themselves. Why are they not lowering the drinking or smoking age then?? If kids are old enough to decide to change sex, then they are old enough to drink and smoke. At 12 they want to give kids hormones to change their sex, but they can only legally experience sex at 16?? Why not lower the age of consent to 12 too. Allow drinking and smoking at 12. Doctors like this are dangerous and are pushing their master's narrative. FIRE THIS DOCTOR

She's not an outlier, the majority of medical professionals is in agreement and so are the major medical organizations. There's a difference between getting medical treatment and smoking cigarettes.

I worry for the health of the patients who have received gender affirming care. Body mutilation for what could simply be a phase for CHILDREN who dont fully understand the ramifications is absolutely horrendous. They shouldnt be making this kind of a life-changing decision at such a young age. And parents shouldn't be encouraging it - that's abuse as far as i'm concerned. This exdcutive order is exactly what needed to happen. Kids need protected.

Also, I might add, having a driver's license is a HUGE decision that can impact the safety of many, many others. Furthermore, marriage usually results in children (amongst many couples), so getting married and having kids is a decision that impacts the safety of others as well. However, transphobes don't seem to care about THOSE decisions. Care to comment?
