Dr. Bruce Greyson is the Chester Carlson Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia. He previously served at the University of Michigan Medical School and the University of Connecticut, where he was Clinical Director of Psychiatry.
Dr. Greyson has worked with the National Institutes of Health and presented awareness symposiums at the United Nations and at the Dalai Lama's residence in Dharamsala, India. He has received awards for his medical research and was elected a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the highest honor given by that organization.
The interest of Dr. Greyson's near-death experiences began just months after graduating from medical school, when he treated an unconscious patient in the emergency room who surprised him the next morning with a description of her out-of-body experience.
This event challenged his beliefs about the mind and brain and eventually led him to study near-death experiences scientifically, resulting in more than a hundred publications in medical journals.
He co-founded the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS), an organization dedicated to supporting and promoting research into these experiences, and for 27 years edited the Journal of Near-Death Studies, the only journal dedicated to research on Dedicated to near-death experiences. Through his research, he has discovered common and universal themes in near-death experiences that transcend neurophysiological or cultural interpretations, as well as patterns of persistent aftereffects on individuals' attitudes, beliefs, values, and personalities.
Dr. Greyson is the author of After: A Doctor Explores What Near-Death Experiences Reveal About Life and Beyond. The book challenges our everyday ideas about our minds and brains and offers important insights into how we can live more meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Ich habe viele Stunden deines Kanals gesehen gehört und gespürt aber diese eine spezielle Stunde mit diesem Wissenschaftler hat mir effektiv die Augen geöffnet da ich auch ein Mathematiker bin und der Wissenschaft vertraue und genau deswegen bin ich in meinem tiefsten Herzen berührt. Bruce Greyson ist ein sympathischer Mediziner, der nicht darauf beharrt, dass derzeitige medizinische Erkenntnisse das non plus Ultra sind, sondern dass die Wissenschaft sich in ständiger Entwicklung befindet und er damit der Spiritualität ein Raum gibt.
