Hi guys welcome to my channel, my name is Doc Rome, I am a Urologist in the Philippines and I do vlogs all about medicine and my life as a doctor.
This is the 11th episode of our podcast where we talk about everything in medicine from premed to the medical specialties. For this podcast we are gonna talk The Doctor to the Barrios Program or the DTTB.

As a doctor, i would like to advise all DTTB doctors that you should also learn some Self Defense as this is also for your own good. You can never neglect the fact that there might be a drunk patient or any aggressive person especially in barrios where drinking tuba is prevalent and sometimes they may be wanting to hurt you while doing your duty. Others are just ill tempered mostly when they have a patient in critical condition. You can be mentally and if possible "physically" prepared to handle them . You have to be ready to protect yourself so that you can continue the good deeds. I suggest Arnis, boxing and judo.

Yay! Plano ko din mag dttb pero may question po ako. Karamihan po kasi bago sila mag residency it's either nag moonlight sila sa hospitals, nagssoul searching and yung iba pumapasok sa dttb program. Since na legit doctor ka na dapat para makapasok, pwede po ba or qualified ka pa rin po ba na mag enter sa program kahit tapos na medical training mo? I mean po for example tapos ka na sa residency and fellowship tas gusto mo mag dttb, pwede po ba yun? Salamat po!

Doc goodam poh may tanung po ako about sa amoxicililin poh kasi nag take poh ako ng gamot nayn dahil poh sa sugat sa daliri k ng cost ng pananagati at namula and nag kanana at namaga poh ..ngyn nag take ako ng amoxicillin bali nka 6 pcs na tablet po ako kada 8hrs poh kaso dun sa unang dalawang take k ng gamot eh nakaruon poh ako ng pamamantal na malalaki sa buong katawan at sobra poh itong makati..ngyn po doc dapat kbng itigil ito sa pag inom ...kasi poh may napanuod ako now na nakapag take n ako eh pag natigil daw poh oh hndi complte pag inom ng 7days ay hndi na tatalab yng gamot na antibiotic sa mga bacterial..eh ksi doc sobrang kati at malalaking pamamantal poh ano poh b dapat oh gagawin k doc ..

Doc good morning. Any advice sa acai berry tablet from organique. Effective ba ito? Or simply a marketing strategy. Any benefits? Thanks

I am a doctor and i will answer your question directly but no need for specific names of proprietary products. They are NOT proven to effective and yes its more of a marketing strategy. All supplements in the market nowadays all claim to have a cure for cancer, hypertension, heart disease and other ailments. Its ok to take supplements but it will not be ok if you are on a certain maintenance medication and you skip them for the supplements because of the claims of treatment. However when you look at the bottom of the container it is written NO APPROVED THERAPEUTIC because it is in our law by the FDA for all supplements. That means they have yet to be tested and proven to have therapeutic effects. If they have then will now be called as medication or drugs. I have seen many elderly patients on supplements for a long time and skipping or totally replacing their maintenance drugs and in the end their ailments got worse.
