Some people may criticize Dr. V for being so strict about ingredients. But I love how careful she is. Like she said, if even 1% of her 20 million viewers get irritated skin or breakouts (and thus hyperpigmentation) due to her recommendations, that's too many. Maybe most people won't have a problem with these ingredients or don't hyperpigment easily (especially people without skin of color). But for a lot of our deeper skinned friends and loved ones, hyperpigmentation and melasma come all too easily. For example, one of my best friends has Indian/Southeast Asian heritage and an allergy to bug bites. If she gets a single mosquito bite, the area will swell up like a ball, and even if she doesn't touch it, it'll leave a huge dark mark after.

Glad to see Dr V review this line. I used an Ordinary hyperpigmentation routine (alpha arbutin, niacinamide, etc) for a few months and saw improvement, but decided to switch to the Good Molecules hyperpigmentation routine (correcting serum and brightening toner) suggested by Dr Alexis Stephens …and WOW! The more stubborn hyperpigmentation on my face removed dramatically. Plus I appreciate the convenience of having multiple actives packed into a couple of products at a great price point. Despite taking a lot of care (and spf), it remained hard stay a step ahead of inflammation in the first place. So I broke down and asked my doctor who prescribed clindamyacin and tretinoin. The doctor visit and Rx were way more affordable and effective than all my otc efforts to stop breakouts 🤦🏽♀️ I’m exclusively using those Rx right now and inflammation is finally in my rear view mirror. Such a confidence booster being able to prevent inflammation and also treat hyperpigmentation if it does happen 🙏🏽

Good Molecules Niacinimide is better formulated that the one by the Ordinary. I haven’t had any issues with it. The discoloration correcting serum has given me great results for my hyperpigmentation. All of Good Molecules products are gentle to the skin, except their glycolic acid. It’s very strong but I like it. Lactic acid burned my skin like bacon. Glycolic acid works better for me. This was a great review!
