This song strikes me in the feels every time I listen to it. I love it so freakin much, but I can't escape this strange feeling. It's very difficult to explain. The song gives me the sense of a better place existing out there, somewhere, and I am free to go to it, but in doing so I have to leave behind everything. It's a sensation of longing, forlornness, and relief all in one, something no song has ever caused me to experience before. There's also a hint of nostalgia in the single bell-ish melody, especially at the very beginning, bringing back memories of innocent times as a kid, which I can never experience again. The very beginning is also the strongest part of the song that brings the thought of a perfect world to my mind. The picture may be influencing my interpretation, but I honestly can't get that feeling out of my head whenever I listen to this song. It sends chills down my spine and calms me down at the same time. I sense determination sprinkled in the more powerful parts, hidden in the dubstep-esqe intermissions, especially at 1:28, before leading into the long drawn out chords, once again resurfacing the flawless utopia and my one way trip to it. The undertone melody that supports the main chords hides a meaning that keeps this thought alive, but just barely, using downward progression to enforce the one way rule. Then everything disappears and I wake up, the buzzing at the end reminding me that this is all in my head, and if I want to reach that distant place I dreamt of, I have to go out into the world and make it myself. The song is just beautiful. It's saddening and hopeful, intense and relieving, violent and calming, all at the same time, and I love it. It brings up a unique mix of emotions that no other song I've heard can compare to. Thank you Doctor Vox for creating this amazing piece, and thank you Diversity for allowing me to find it. While I may never see that glorious place in my life, I know that I can create my own, and cross the frontier that divides it from my life. Thank you.
