If you remember, after the Toymaker was defeated, The Doctor still had some "playful" energy to make the impossible happen (and do the thing with the carnival hammer) So... it is in line with that thinking that after defeated Maestro, there was still some "musical" energy that he could get his little musical number in while reality was still a thing to be played with.

Hmm generally I liked this a lot more than Space Babies. However - and for me this is a big however - there are loads of problems with it from a real-world continuity pov. Lennon didn't adopt his round granny glasses to 1966. The number plate of the VW Beetle on Abbey Road was an F plate (again 1966/67). The general clothing (especially for some of the dancers) didn't ring true for 1963 either (go-go boots and miniskirts only became popular from '64 onwards with Courrèges and Quant respectively) - 1963 wasn't the swinging sixties. Finally and biggest of all in February 1963 (The Beatles recorded their first album on Feb 11th 1963) the UK was experiencing the biggest freeze in hundreds of years - for over 3 months starting in mid December the temperature didn't once get above freezing. There would have ice and snow everywhere, and no puddles to stick a tuning fork into. These may seem nitpicky - but it is someone's job in production to make sure things are right.

I like this one exponentially more than the first one!! Maestro is the best new villain since . . . I don't know when, in years! Genuinely frightening at times! These characters related to The Toymaker are leveling up the stakes!! The Doctor showing Ruby the future if they don't fix things reminded me of the 4th Doctor showing Sarah-Jane something similar in "Pyramid on Mars". Speaking of Sutekh, since the Doctor sent him into the ends of time, I wonder if he could be "The One Who Waits"? I know he was supposed to be dead, but . . . Dr. Who, and villains in general. There were also the Gods of Ragnarok in "Greatest Show in the Galaxy".

the only time i (well i guess not me) have skipped a intro in any show is when i watching 2-3 episodes back to back and netflix auto skips it when it starts the next one lol

Imagine little children watching this. They'll definitely have nightmares. Job well done.😀 Jinx was fantastic in this role.

Meastro is soo scary, its been a while since weve had a proper scary monster. Also is it just me or does Ruby have some kind of connection to toymaker?

Is it me, or is the ‘harbinger’ kid’s face CGI?

I get people not liking musical numbers in a vacuum, but I really, really don't understand it in the context of Doctor Who. I genuinely wonder what the people who dislike the musical number at the end even like about the show in the first place? It's like being a fan of Star Wars, but disliking the light saber fights or being a fan of Van Halen, but disliking guitar soloes. It was very quintessential to the episode and it's exactly stuff like this that has been missing from the show for the past few years.

Most musical episodes are really bad and add nothing to the story. In the case of dr who, most episodes are experimental, meaning half of, maybe even more than half of the episodes are duds already. This episode I will admit was pretty great but the musical bits had a reason to be there. It wasn’t just tacked on. The only issue I see people having is that it was too camp of an episode. Everyone has their own Version of what doctor who is great at being, but a lot of the times it changes weekly and that causes a while lot of inconsistency in quality of writing.

I don't like musicals, never have but I do love proper drama on a stage in a theater. I'll explain it like this. No matter how fantastical or improbable or ill logical as a viewer I'm expected to understand this is the world these characters live in, an established world view but that is their reality. That reality is broken to me as soon as I see jumping up on tables, dancing & singing. It's like horror films as well. You accept the logic that characters who corner a killer & beat the crap out of them who then turn and run away instead of continuing. It's not realistic but it's an established act in horror to keep the story going or shooting aimlessly at a clear target "Stormtrooper aim" like Chibnalls Cybermen clearly had 😂😂 it's not realistic but neither should it be even though you could make it less obvious 😉 It's for some but not me these musical interludes but I want DW to continue so it won't lose me yet. There's a lot good than bad here.

@@fleason771 Doctor Who breaks the established reality all the time. How is it only bad when it's done in a musical number, but it's not bad when there's voiceover dialogue, or bad special effects, or fourth wall breaks, or literally most of the show happens?

@@ActioJjunky See, I don't understand this kind of mentality. Have none of you ever been to theatre?

@@SunniestAutumn You mean a musical theatre or stage performance theatre?? Doctor Who related I've seen both David Tennant & Billie Piper on stage in dramatic performances & both didn't sing or dance once

my first thought was amy too lmao , the girl who waited and the one who waits would be a great power couple.

I was not familiar with this guest star but she absolutely killed it. It's a real high-wire act, particularly on this show, to go full-tilt and keep some semblance of menace. It's kind of going back to the larger-than-life villains of the old days, but with a new idea. And a better wardrobe.

Hmm after mulling on it, i think rubys a plant from the toymaster, or possibly the master.. i think the actress susan twist playing numerous different characters, the latest being s. triad is because she IS the tardis, remember how the doctor bigenerated, then said were still in the toymasters world and pulled out a cartoon hammer then split the tardis into two, its been acting odd ever since, so maybe shes the other half in disguise, its been done before, Being in the toymasters world would explain why everythings super cheesy, n why its dr seussy and breaking the 4th wall, and why all the episodes seem so off....also when the so called sonic was used to silence maestro it wasn't blue like it usually is. But is one who waited.. Omega I hope so.. But may be none of this

Sorry to nitpick but the music educator in me has to point out the Devil’s Chord is technically an Interval (2 pitches) whereas a chord must contain at least three pitches.
