As much as Amy's Choice is about confronting her with her possible future and lifestyle, the 'choice' itself is really about getting over her uncertainty about the wedding and her idolisation/infatuation with The Doctor as implied at the end of episode 5. So, yeah, she ended up sort of getting both worlds, but she still had to choose who she was committed to. The Dreamlord was just the Doctor's dark side pushing her to that realisation of how important Rory is to her, whether they're together on the TARDIS or not.

Thank you for suffering thru this reaction for us. It is appreciated. Great episode. I'm always struck by the line The Doctor has about knowing who the Dream Lord is because "only one person in the universe hates me as much as you." Realizing that he means him really shows a side of himself that The Doctor doesn't like to show.

I do hope you feel better soon, Jess. :) Yet another glimpse into the dark, manipulative aspects of The Doctor. Considering all the things he deals with consciously, you can just imagine what a mess his subconscious is (especially with the number of times his personality has changed). Sometimes he has to be cruel to be kind, but we've seen what can happen when that gets out of control, in both The Master and another character from back in the classic series. There's a lot to explore there.

When I first saw this I was convinced the Dream Lord was the Master...... and considering "The Doctor Lies", I've always thought it could still be. It always bothered me Eleven never had an encounter with the Master and if anybody could be John Sim to Eleven's David Tennant it would be Toby Jones

when I watched this episode the first time I thought it was strange that so many kids were playing in the old castle. then I went to wales and visited it and it was hard to take pictures there without a kid running through because it seems to be that families really like to bring their kids there and having a barbeque in the middle of it (more families than houses in the village were there ^^)

Hearing Arthur Darvill (Rory) in this episode made me realise I'd love to see you react to Broadchurch (starring David Tennant and Olivia Coleman(Prisoner Zero) and Darvill) in future, if possible. It would be a really good show to react to and discuss!

I tear up every time I watch this one. If there's a positive for that awkward scene at the end of Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone, it's in the payoff here. So well done, from script to acting to production. And Toby Jones! I'll watch just about anything that he's in. The script's by the guy who wrote the original Men Behaving Badly - which is a big reason why this story snuck up on me. I wasn't expecting much good from it, and it became the best of the season so far for me. Best line: "If we're going to die, let's die looking like a Peruvian folk band."

Wow, thanks for this reaction. And with a headache too. Hope you feel better soon, be kind to yourself. When I first watched these episodes I was worried Rory would be abused by Amy, the same way Micky was abused by Rose back in Series 1+2. Rory is smart and insightful and totally loyal to Amy … but Amy “wears the pants” and was distracted by the Doctor. So I was very pleased that this episode sent Amy and Rory’s relationship on a different trajectory. Yeah, Rory is now part of the TARDIS crew. (And what's wrong with having a pony tail?)

I love this episode. At least Amy was honest in this, she didn't' know until the choice was taken out of her hands and she thought Rory died. I liked the Dream Lord, as the "bad" guy.

This is among my series' favourites, and in my opinion while it starts off slow, the middle and ending more than make up for it. Amy and Rory's dynamic is a nice change to the normal "Doctor & 1 companion" scenario seen previously, and the Dream Lord was a very intriguing villain. Next episode paves the way for an interesting topic which IMO is handled pretty good, especially concerning humans at their core. Oh, and as for the tearing up near the episode's end, I'm sure it was just the allergies :)

About the next 2 Episodes: I can agree that it's handled pretty well from an objective standpoint.... but it's just that for me, personally, A.....e is one of the very rare cases of a [RETRACTED] that is so aggravating to me that I almost cannot watch the 2-parter as a result of it. Most of which is probably more on me and my sensibilities than on the writing involving A.....e itself.

So at the end with the weird reflection, it doesn't mean something is going to happen. It's just showing how the Dream Lord was a the darker side of the Doctor, and he's still plaguing him in a way, if that makes sense. Notice how much the Dream Lord hated the Doctor; it shows us how much the Doctor hates himself really.

i feel like i want to tell u the keyword of every season, u know the word that is repeated throughout the season but isn't explained until the finale, like in season 1 it's "Bad Wolf," season 2 "Torchwood," season 3 "Saxon," and season 4 "Doctor/Donna," i don't consider this type of information a spoiler but IF U DO then consider this a SPOILER ALERT please DO NOT CONTINUE reading, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED .......................................... here we go: season 5 "Pandorica," season 6 "Silence," season 7 "Impossible Girl," season 8 "Heaven (or Paradise or Afterlife)," and season 9 "The Hybrid;" also there is a keyword (or sentence) that also connects seasons 6 and 7 together i can say it but personally i feel like it's a bit more spoiler-y than the rest, so i won't mention it until u reach a point where they reference it.

Out of curiosity, why the hell would you want to tell someone that kind of information about seasons to come? I give you some small credit for giving spoiler alerts, but why do this in the first place?

because, and this happened for me and 3 of my friends who were turned onto the show, in some instances (or seasons) we don't recognize or notice the keyword at all and once it is revealed in its finale it would feel like it came out of nowhere which would in turn causes a lesser emotional reaction, for example in season 3 I never noticed the Saxon references the first time watching, so when Martha said she recognized the Master's voice as Saxon my initial reaction was "when did she hear it the first time to recognize it?" had i known before to pay attention to it I would've genuinely been surprised by the reveal, and (without going into details for spoiler reasons) the exact same thing happened to me in season 9, for me the way I see it I didn't give any plots or twists it's just a single word that doesn't reveal anything even if u connect the dots throughout the season, only revealed until the finale and that's why I've put the spoiler alert in the beginning because I know not everybody will see it my way, some people like to go in completely in the dark not knowing anything even if it's not a spoiler, plus let's be honest the only keyword that's borderline a spoiler from the coming seasons is season 6's word because the rest when they're first mentioned they're mentioned in a memorable way so they're spoiled in their first episode basically

But had the showrunner wanted keywords to descend from a great height like a Monty Python anvil then they would have inserted more obvious links. They didn't. Instead the episodes are as they were written. So the sensible thing to do, especially given the repeated requests is to stop issuing hints, spoilers and additional highlights and let the reactor react. Then perhaps, after the final episode, we can discuss whether the links were sufficiently pointed and, more to the point, whether the whole thing makes any sense. But in the meantime I suggest we all just go with the flow of the story.

+WolfGratz i don't disagree with u, actually i totally agree that had the showrunner or writer wanted the keyword abundantly clear they would've made it like a hammer on the head, but that's the thing sometimes (not always) they make it too vague and completely unnoticeable that it takes away from the big reveal. That's why i tried to make my spoiler alert extremely clear before mentioning the keywords, im just saying that the reactor might be like me in that sometimes not noticing the keyword can actually have a negative effect on the enjoyment of the big reveal at the end, and the keyword for me i don't consider a spoiler because the keyword doesn't say "pay attention to this episode or that episode because this is what will happen" but it means "pay attention to the word whenever it happens, u might not understand it now, why, or how it relates or connects everything, but u'll appreciate once it's explained in the end" for example season 1, if i say "pay attention to the words Bad Wolf" will u 100% understand from that statement that Rose will be inspired by the words to go back to help the Doctor, gain powers, become the Bad Wolf, and spread the word throughout time and space?.... if u figure that out from that simple statement then u r beyond genius, i would say that u r The Doctor himself.
