For nostalgia, ratings and to bring back fans who stopped watching the show a long time ago for some reason :) 👀

@@joesmith8600 Partially… but More than anything I think it’s to give Ncuti a fair shot as he’s going to be in at least one of these specials, so people will get a chance to see him and hopefully enjoy him enough to carry on watching for his era. Unsurprisingly the show has lost massive numbers of followers and viewers in recent years and this undoubtedly will bring most of them back to give the show another chance with its new (old) showrunner.

@@stephen-dfc ah... I think those fans who stopped watching the show during the Moffat or Chibnall era will come back just for Tennant episodes and that's it, unfortunately...

@@joesmith8600 some will, but I’m pretty sure Russell knows this is his chance to show off the new doctor alongside one of the favourites. If people like what they see from Ncuti and enjoy the story, they’ll continue watching, knowing there’s more of the same coming soon.
