Glad you've found your Capaldi moment! He's my favorite New Series Doctor. Of course the sleigh driving scene was the first time we've seen pure joy on this Doctor's face. He was just enjoying himself like never before in the season leading up to this. It's a great scene.

Originally 11 was MY doctor for new who and at first I didnt like 12 but by this episode, he became my favorite modern doctor. Sure, Clara and 11 looked cute together but 12 and Clara's chemistry was much better.

My mother was admitted to hospital on its original air date, when I watched a few days later I didn’t realise it would be our last Christmas. It has gone on to become my favourite Christmas special. Every Christmas is our last Christmas. Remember that and enjoy every day of life, that’s what it’s for. honestly that whole last sequence with 12 and clara was when i fully fell in love with them as a duo (and to this day, they’re still up there on the top spot). that sort of stuff was like the kind of stuff that really makes your heart go. i have such strong feelings for their relationship. a lot of people do and totally relate to what you’re feeling. i’m both really excited and nervous for your reactions in series 9, what an emotional ride it is

Originally this was supposed to be Genna Coleman's last episode, but she changed her mind and wanted to continue playing Clara. Moffatt was considering the actress who played the 'Waif' in Game of Thrones to be the new companion. Also, the Elf Ian was played by Dan Starkey who normally plays 'Strax'.

That’s amazing. One of the reasons I love your reactions so much is that we have the absolute exact same tastes in Doctor Who (other reasons include how intense and funny your reactions are lol). I LOVED Rose and the Doctor, I cried my eyes out for Ten’s exit (and it’s probably one of my all time favorite episodes too, such a good script and outstanding performances), and my next favorites are Clara and Twelve. Some part of the fandom doesn’t like Clara, but I very much do. She is a flawed character but she is very endearing and Jena Coleman portrays her amazingly. Coleman and Capaldi have great chemistry, they’re just so cute together, and their characters have such a deep and layered kind of interaction. They bring both the best and worst in each other, and the fact that they are an unlikely pair (as opposed to Matt and Jenna being both young and handsome) brings out how deep and unflinching their love is for each other. It’s just amazing. Very much looking forward to your next reactions !

One of my favorite Christmas specials along with one coming up. So magical and beautiful. I love that end scene with Twelve and Clara.... It's just.. God it is so phenomenal, they are so amazing together it actually hurts sometimes lmao. Their love, bond and care for each other is just something so special and it warms my heart so much. The different bonds and relationships the Doctor has with people and how much they mean is seriously my favorite part about the show honestly. This reaction was amazing! How about fuck no one? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I personally was a full on Clara fanboy initially during her era and I still like her character overall, but in retrospect I can also actually understand where the people who didn't like her are coming from on certain points. The bossiness and controlling nature I actually have no problem with as it was intentional and was portrayed as a character flaw which helped to develop Her character after series 7 where She couldn't really grow as a character due to series arch requiring her to remain mysterious and enigmatic. Making Her so important to The Doctors life was a big mistake though in my opinion as it alienates a lot of audience who weren't so fond of Clara, and since she was always one of more divisive companions, that's a lot of people.

Hah, another fab reaction, to one of my favourite Christmas specials ;). And that last shot of the satsuma. There's probably a dissertation to be written on the role of satsumas in 'Doctor Who' (10 saved the Earth with one for instance). Buffy fans may remember the episode "Normal Again", i've always seen "Last Christmas" as 'Doctor Who's take on that idea (of course, sometimes a satsuma is highly significant and sometimes it's just a handy pocket sized source of vitamin C ;). So glad Jenna Coleman changed her mind about leaving because peak 12 + Clara is still to come IMO ;).

I watched Jenna on stage in London tonight and came home to this reaction. She is as amazing live as she is on screen. All so real and effortless acting. Fun fact: the final scenes with Clara being either young or old were written before they were sure she was staying for series 9 (or more accurately, before Steven Moffat was sure he had persuaded her to stay), with the intention of using both in this way (or the other way round if she had in fact left). This was actually one of the secrets they managed to keep, since the special was produced as part of series 8, with series 9 filming starting in the New Year (2015).

Sad story coming up. This episode utterly destroyed me when I first watched it the Christmas it aired. No tv show or movie has ever made me cry so hard than this one episode. Years back now, my dad died during Christmas from cancer. It rapidly aged him. He went from looking 50 to 100 in like a month. So seeing Clara suddenly really old and her saying "Every Christmas is last Christmas." hit me so fucking hard. Even watching it now made me feel like I got punched in the chest. Just sharing that to say you do really good work with these reaction videos, and I very much enjoy them, and due to that will continue to watch them even if it's an episode that's really hard for me to watch. My dear, you are positively giddy...yep, you're in love 😁. I think one of the best things about the 12/Clara relationship is that it's tested far more than most other Doctor/companion relationships, yet they come out of it even stronger than before. Consider the end of "Kill the Moon" when she more or less told him to fuck off after he'd put her through that ordeal, or when she betrayed him in "Dark Water", yet he still helped her when she needed him. I'm glad you enjoy 12 and Clara so much. I find them to be the most interesting pairing in the show and one of the most endearing. Series 9 is by far the peak for those two, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing your reactions to it.

This was originally Clara's exit episode and was rewritten by Moffat last minute. It was during the promotion of S8 the world tour ( Search "Doctor Who: Earth Conquest - The World Tour" which is a fascinating insight into Who worldwide, worth a Look Shayla with no spoilers & plenty of Jenna & Peter, so search for it on Amazon Prime :-) that Moffat convinced Jenna she wasn't ready to leave Who in "Last Christmas" so that really was supposed to be an exit on the same heartbreak level as Donna on the page

I’ve always thought it was more of a deep family relationship, like His granddaughter, but so intense, it is really hard to describe. She saved all of his lives, a debt and duty he feels he can never really repay. It also relates to where he is in his regeneration cycle. He’s lost so many people. Like I said, hard to describe.

I am 13 minutes in to the video but I have to comment now! One of the reasons I love Clara and 12 so much is because you can really tell that they genuinely make eachother better people. I grew up watching Rose, and The Doctor, and really enjoyed their relationship. 10 and Donna and Amy and the Doctor too. they all have great relationships, but the thing about Clara and 12 is that you can really tell just how intense their relationship is. They properly go through all the highs and lows together, and I believe this is something you rarely see on TV. think of how they were in Kill The Moon - and how they were on this. Their scenes together are so visceral and powerful; they don't just love being with eachother, they need eachother in a way that we haven't really seen before. 10 and 11 would do almost anything for Rose and Amy, but I really get the impression that 12 would do literally everything for Clara. The thing that really gets me is that it isn't just romance like with Rose, or a friendship like with Donna and Amy, but something much more, which is really rare to see. The best thing is that, it doesn't just happen within the span of a few episodes, but it is really gradual. To the extent that you really aren't sure how you feel about 12 for a good while, but - at some point it all just clicks, and you realise what was there all along. I really rarely comment on any KZbin videos but I am so engrossed in your reactions and they really make my day, thank you so much for sharing these with us all, absolutely fantastic. I've been smiling so much through this reaction it has been so fantastic, I think this was the exact moment that got me too. You can really tell how happy 12 is when Clara is around, and how much chemistry Peter and Jenna have together. This was actually going to be Clara's last episode, but she stayed because Peter asked her to! be really loved working with her. When you are finished with 12, you should watch the KZbin video titled something like "Peter Capaldi presents Jenna Coleman with woman of the year award 2018" - She asked him to be there when she received it because they are really really good friends - I think you will love it.

I think it's why Shayla is like "what is it about them? I'm confused!" It's because it's developed SO well, slowly and properly, with small and big moments, and at some point a light bulb suddenly turns on in your head and you go "OHHH, wait a minute...." And then after going back and rewatching their moments, with that knew knowledge/realization, you SEE it. You see it in many of their interactions, how it's built up and how it's beautiful
