I think it's an underappreciated moment that the DOCTOR, a member of one of the most advanced species in the known universe, showed so much admiration towards the Kahler. If a Time Lord, especially a Time Lord like the Doctor, admires a race that much, you can tell they're a pretty clever bunch.

I mean... to be fair, he really admires the human race too lmao. Imagine the Doctor flying around on a solo adventure, hanging out with a bunch of other aliens, only to stumble into a random human. He'd be ecstatic. "A human! From earth! Oh you are my FAVORITES!"

I think the sheriff is played by the actor who played John Criton in the sci-fi show Farscape. Also, as a bonus fact, the actor that played lucifer had a minor role in season 3 of the doctor, who during the finale of season 3. He played the doctor who was helping Martha Jones.
