Doctor Who - 'The Doctor Forever' Cover

Happy 60 years to Doctor Who! To celebrate, I wanted to highlight one of my favourite variants of Murray Gold's 'The Doctor Forever', a theme that surrounds the 10th Doctor (and perhaps the 14th...?). This version appears numerous times yet, at the time of writing, never released officially! I also felt a snippet of 'The Lone Dalek' fit in the suite too, with a few personal touches... (a little theremin?!)

I don’t know who you are or how old your are etc but remember 14 was in a really bad place and he ended up being one of the most badass Drs ever!! You’ll have ups and downs, you’ll be somebody then revert to being no body and vice versa. I wish you all the best and remember chin up. It’ll either get better you’ll end up somewhere you’d never thought you’d be. Keep striving for success

The thing that always stuck with me about New Who was the profound loneliness the Doctor carried with him everywhere he went. Every Doc up until Whittaker had that same underlying grief that motivated nearly everything they did if you looked close enough. And this piece is about as raw a feeling of loneliness as you can get out of music. Through trial and triumph, joy and loss, grief and peace, he is always alone.

I've always been in two mind about whether I wanted a cover of this piece because it'd sound too dissimilar to the original TV version, but at the same time the TV rip most people listen too isn't perfect either, because it's a rip. This is a majestic balance between adding new flair whilst being so incredibly close to the original. Thank you 👍 this has made my year!

Hey WhoviVortex, I have a little request for you. I'm currently working on an animated fantasy series, but I need a theme song. Any intrests of making one? It's not Doctor Who related, of course, but something like this would be nice (same instruments I mean). Orchestral, epic, about a minute long. If you make it I'll give you full credit for the theme in the credits

It’s a great cover, but I believe this isn’t the Doctor Forever, but its variation called The Noble Farewell from The Runaway Bride episode. Still a fantastic piece though.

Hiya - it is the unreleased piece from The Runaway Bride (and a few other episodes), however The Doctor Forever appears quite prominently in it, so I rounded up the title to that rather than anything else/any of the names given by fans. Thank you all the same though!

There's some similarities, and it's quite similar to the track 'Four Knocks' from The End of Time/Time of the Doctor - but it's an original segment in The Star Beast!
