The shot of the TARDIS flying past the aftermath of the crash at the end of the video is such a powerful moment that really hammers in the tragedy of the scene. Something like it should have been in the canon episode.

Earthshock bringing back the dreaded Cybermen after 6 years was awesome in billions of ways and also the flashback scenes were awesome too killing off Adric was a shock like killing off Gan in Blake,s Seven 3 years earlier and both male characters when they died their demises were shocks but David Jackson Gan was happy for Gan to be bumped off because Gan as a character was really a nothing part and David said he did not get many lines as Gan and also Gan could really not develop as a character. When Adric was killed off in Earthshock much as Matthew Waterhouse wanted to be written out, he was disgusted at Adric been killed off and he knew that Adric could never return to the series in future he also refused to speak to the producer JNT for about 2 weeks.

Loved Adric as a youngster - to me he was a proxy audience member. In my schoolyard play, I was Adric going on adventures with the Doctor. I hated Tegan and found her abrasive, unattractive, and annoying. Loved Perer's Doctor and Nissa. It always mystified me how badly Adric was treated. Especially, as he was cast as an audience proxy. Then made to feel so unwelcome (Romana was very rude to him) and finally killed off and really never mentioned again. In reality, anything falling to earth would have taken minutes to crash land, if it is too fast it is just going to penetrate so quickly that it would just leave a small hole and not kick up an impact crater. This happened with WWII planes that disappeared without a trace in fields around Europe as they just completely buried themselves. So either Adric's impact would be slow enough for the Doctor to rescue him or so fast that it would not have caused the extinction event.

Always thought it was weird the way the freighter just blows up! Not a fan of the extra music (I really like how awkward and silent it is after he dies) but this is a fun edit!!

I know Adric was not a well loved character... If you've watched Gallifrey Gals here on KZbin, they watched Earthshock... and it was touching to see that despite having never seen any other 5th Doctor or Adric episode - it had them genuinely upset. So - yeah... It impacts some of us differently.

I have thought a theory if adric is still alive and survive from explosion he will become the doctor's enemy after he abandoned him this is exactly like hero story the captain american with bucky and batman with jason todd and x-men with morp and biker mice from mars with harley and jaden with yubel from yugioh gx

An alternative ending (which has been filmed) has Adric surviving the explosion and waking up on prehistoric Earth, only to be immediately eaten by a wandering T-Rex.
