The one from rose where he just kinda says “lots of planets have a north” which in my mind suggests that somewhere out there, there are in fact Scouse Daleks and brummie cyber men.

EVERYBODY LIVES. Easily. Even in the subsequent lines you can see *just* how much that win meant to him. He's electrified, full of adrenaline. "GO ON Rose, ask me anything. I'M ON FIRE"

The one this video talks about & when he's talking to Rose while holding gun in "Dalek". Dude nailed it.

My favourite 9th Doctor moment is in the second episode when he and Rose are back on earth and are standing in the middle of the crowd. The 9th Doctor finally tells Rose about the Time War and I think it's just a brilliant moment between the two.

It was a real crowd as well. Just normal little people. Imagine walking past the Doctor without even knowing it.

I think, for myself the *Scene* for the 9th doctor, was in Father’s Day. The scene with the couple. “Can you save us” he puts down his screw driver and turns to them, cold without emotion. “Who are you then.” They give him their names. “And one extra, Boy or girl?” He doesn’t really… say it I think to know more, but rather show his intellect and the fact he has chosen that specific thing to point out to say, yes, I see you. I see you have lives, I just don’t get to stand around talking and soaking in what is mundane and repetitive lives humans live. But it kind of grows and the doctor builds a report with them, and I think trusts them enough to tell them directly who he is without saying directly I’m an alien, “I know we aren’t important…” “Who said your not important? I’ve travelled to all sorts of places, done things you wouldn’t believe but you two. Street corner, 2 in the morning - Getting a taxi home. I’ve never had a life like that.”

I agree with you, 9 was amazing and it sucks that behind the scenes went the way it did. I’m happy we have everyone else but it just feels like there was more that never happened

If you're interested into the audio format, Eccleston recently reprised his role as the Ninth Doctor in his own adventure series before meeting Rose

I should check out more of the Big Finish stuff, I've heard it's great and they get a load of old doctors to reprise their roles!

Definatly the "everybody lives" scene. You can hear the hope in his voice, that after so much loss that he just has to accept he gets a win, and those are few and far between

this is definitely a great scene but my personal favourite is in the next episode. the "what are you doctor coward or killer" bit. gets me every time

for me, my favourite 9th doctor moments are "you have no defences, no weapons, no plan. Yeah, and doesn't that scare you to death?" and "everybody lives"

My favorite scene? The part in Father's Day right after Rose blows up the timestream, and for minutes, all he does is simply stare at her- but you can literally hear every word he's thinking just from watching his face. Amazing acting.

I definitely think this scene you're talking about here is highly underrated but I myself do like his first encounter in what he believed to be the last Dalek the best, the way he tried to escape like a trapped animal begging to be let out really paints the picture that he's getting flashbacks to the Time War and his plenty encounters with the Daleks in the classic series, I also absolutely love that miserable shiver in his voice when he says "I know what you deserve".

the whole episode ROSE, "Everybody Lives" episode, and DALEK, and ofc the last 2 episodes (Bad Wolf Saga starting) the WHOLE 1st Season is my "favorite episode", this was the Doctor that revitalized the series

I thought at first the scene you were going to talk about was going to be 'Everybody lives!' solely for the fact that it's the first big healing moment we ever saw for the Doctor after the Time War; the JOY in his voice, the absolute ecstatic joy in his line to Rose; 'And everybody lives, Rose.' Consoling her, too, much like in the scene you discussed, and also reinforcing - perhaps even to himself - that this time, JUST this ONCE, nobody has to die. In the middle of a warzone, no less; there's not much closer he could have got to his PTSD and survivor's guilt than being in a warzone. And in the middle of it, this time, he's not pushing a button to wipe everybody out. Not EVERYBODY has to die. This time, 'Everybody lives!' I still tear up when I see that scene. But this scene at the end of Bad Wolf, oh yeah. I was hoping this video would be about it from around the 1:30 mark. I absolutely adore this scene. It's one of the scenes I like to show people who say they skipped the Ninth Doctor, it's my absolute favorite badass, standing up for himself moment from ANY of the Doctors, and hearing you break it down really reminded me why he still to this day holds a solid third place for my favorite Doctor despite the single season. (I grew up with the re-runs of the classics, Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee are just un-toppable.)

Imagining Eccleston returning as a version of the 9th Doctor who didn’t regenerate into Tennant and went on to save Gallifrey would just be magical

Holy shit, nice catch on that moment of realisation being more than just the return of an enemy. The fact his atrocities didn't WORK is way worse. Love the 9th's understated ferocity too, it's often more imposing even than the grandstanding that 10 and especially the Moffat doctors were prone too. My personal favourite 9th scene has got to be his chat with the Slitheen matriarch in Boom Town. The Slitheen actress, Annette Badland, plays off Eccleston insanely well as they take turns quietly shattering each other's moral high ground. And all in some little pub, in the open.

My favourite two are also "I said no" and the earth turning speech. Probably a tie between the two. They're both so fantastic.

These last 2 episodes are definitely some of my favourites from the series as a whole with many memorable moments! I remember watching these when they aired when I was a kid. I wonder how the ninth doctor and John Simm's master would have interacted.

I understand your take but nothing will surpass the scene in Boom Town where the doctor has dinner with the slitheen and they just have a constant back and forth that feels really genuine. Some of the best insight we get into how 9 thinks, honestly.

Makes me even sadder this incarnation never met River (at least on screen...her final episode does imply she may have at least crossed paths with them all over time), since the Daleks also seem to not quite understand her, other than knowing that they should very much fear her.

Just re-watched Series 1 with a friend who's never watched Doctor Who before. First time since I was in secondary school. This is my favourite scene, too, I think. Really honourable mention to the ending scenes of The End of the World. One of the scenes that gets me a little emotional even though that episode isn't even a favourite of mine overall.

Absolutely spot on!!! I appreciate your passion and catching the moves, vocal cadence, and the fantastic acting. I also wanted more episodes with #9. I watch the first season over and over. I am also impressed with the speeches of #12. There is so much fine work from #9, #10, #11 and #12.

While he was a good Doctor, this was the Last series i bought and watched. I liked 10, 11 and 12th better. He is still a good actor but He is too bitter. At least He Cares about Rose and the Earth. Everybody lives and the Last dalek one are His best scenes.

To be fair, that bitterness makes sense considering that he just came off from the time war.
