Doctor Who RANKING all the Doctors 1-13 (2021 LIST)

In this video I rank all the actors who have played the title character in Doctor Who from least favorite to favorite. It was a very difficult list to put together but I felt like it had to be done.

Interesting ranking! My personal favourite is Matt Smith :) But I do agree! I love the dark side scenes with 13! She's awesome when she's angry with the Daleks especially :D

My time with big finish has definitely changed my view on which I think is at number one, for the longest time it was a toss up between Capaldi and Baker, much like your list, since discovering big finish, 6, 7 and 8 have shot up from the depths to become 3 of my top 5. 1: Paul McGann 2: Peter Capaldi 3: Colin Baker 4: Tom Baker 5: Sylvester McCoy

Matt Smith should be at the top and John Hurt should at least be in the single digits. However, I'm glad that somebody else thinks that Peter Capaldi is overrated. He's a decent actor but in Season 8, I was much more likely to see the Doctor in Clara Oswald than in him. Capaldi didn't become a legitimate incarnation in my mind until The Zygon Inversion, which was 21 episodes after Smith's regeneration. Ironically, I think being a lifelong fan was actually hindering Capaldi's performances because he was trying to cram every previous Doctor into a single incarnation, a feat that even Sir Laurence Olivier would struggle to pull off.

David Tennet is my favorite but I loved the Rose and Doctor story. I am a big Who fan seen all the doctors and eras at least what the BBC has not accidently destroyed. What made Rose my favorite companion with Tennent at the helm she was the first companion not there just for adventure she truly loved the Doctor. This was first showed when they were stuck in space station without the Tardis. Rose was fine with being stuck there forever as long as the Doctor was with her and for the first time ever The Doctor was fine as well not traveling across space and time if meant he was with Rose. Also just to see how much it scar the Doctor when he lost rose was something that had missing from Who since its conception just seeing the Doctor go through that in the third series. In the 4th series the Doctor and Rose reunited it just brought the feels. I mean I cant say any Doctor has been able to do that again. The tenth Doctor and his companions especially Rose is the best in the shows history in my opinion. Also who doesn't love the Doctor-Donna relationship as well or Captain Jack

The comparison of the 8th and 13th Doctors is an interesting one. I hadn't really thought of that before. Also, I don't get the hype around Jo Martin's Doctor. There was very little to go on and she barely made much of an impression in her tiny bit of screen time

Well made! I personally would've ranked Colin a bit higher, mostly for his tenure at Big Finish. He's had some of my absolute favorite stories there, and they do well to mellow out his character. Would you be interested in doing a similar list for the Masters at some point in the future?

Yes. I definitely plan to at some point in the future. I'm considering waiting a bit to familiarise myself a little better with some of the Big Finish Masters so I can include those. I haven't heard any stories with the Dreyfuss or Gatiss Masters yet.

@@ChestersReviews Understandable! Gatiss is an Unbound Master, so you'll wanna start with Sympathy for the Devil for his first appearance. After that he shows up in the Bernice Summerfield series a couple times (Volume 3 and 4 of The New Adventures), then in the 4th War Master set and Masterful. As for Dreyfuss you'll want to listen to the Destination Wars, The Home Guard, and the Psychic Circus. I'd definitely recommend anything with Beevers, Macqueen, or Jacobi's Master on audio too. Beevers and Jacobi really get time to shine there, and Macqueen is just a lot of fun in general.

I like David Tennant a lot, but I do not disagree with what you had to say about him (his two moods you laid out was hilarious and true). I also did not particularly enjoy his relationship with rose and it is hard sometimes for me to rank him because his era and his episodes were so good.

Matt Smith started well but became too silly and quirky to the detriment of any other traits. Sylvester McCoy had an interesting angle as schemer but after those final 2 series of his it was becoming one dimensional and we needed to see him on the back foot or dealing with failure to see more range. So I would knock those two down a bit. Any doctor is affected by his companion relations, you mentioned Tennant's Doctor and Rose but a lot of Colin Baker's problem was they gave him awful companions with really toxic interactions. When he was on his own he was chewing up the scenery and delighting us. Peter Davison while always basically kind and nice had more than his share of disliked and several really poorly developed companions that affected how we saw him.

You do make some good points there, especially about Colin. His relationship with Peri in S22 especially was terrible. Again, something I think big finish has done better

David Tennant 10th not a big fan of rose either, I don’t think it was creepy. 3. Matt Smith 11th echoes of the 4th; delightfully childlike, the wide eyed wonder, daffy.

I have a good reason not to include her. She's ONLY in one episode, the war doctor may only be actually seen in one too, but he's mentioned throughout most of the reboot. The new series of doctor has the memory of being the war doctor and is dealing with it. So despite only 1 episode of screen time, the war doctor had a huge effect on the current series.

I have just spent a quarter of an hour watching this, hoping that for once a North American fan would nominate someone OTHER than Tom Baker as the No. 1 Doctor. Nope...I should have known better. Although how ANY of the New Series Doctors could be ranked in the top 5 is beyond me. Capaldi better than Hartnell or Troughton? Smith better than Pertwee? Do me a favour... 😐

Fembot doctor is horrible. It's more about PC than quality of the show. Let's push agenda over story. Could care less if they did a female doctor but this is bad.
