This is Davina McCall's 2nd contribution to Doctor Who under RTD. Davina co-hosts a real show called "Long Lost Family" for ITV that is directly being referenced here & by doing it like this it gives a lot of good exposition on Ruby without feeling forced, something that Chibnall struggled with. Davina was also host of Big Brother for like 10 years or so & played her voiced self in the S1 finale "Bad Wolf" with the 9th Doctor back in 2005

Ncuti is so good! I was so worried about bringing back David Tennant that would make it difficult to transition to the next doctor, but so far, I've been proven wrong because this has been an amazing switch! 15 letting the policeman know his girlfriend will say yes to the proposal was honestly one of the sweetest things the doctor has done, and I loved that moment so much! I really loved this whole Christmas special!

I have a sad theory that it might be Ruby herself who brought her baby self to the church. Except this Ruby has already been on her journey with the Doctor and is now dying or something equally worse. Because we know most companions usually have a sad ending which I hope isn't the case for her. So before she dies she delivers her baby self who she saved from some crazy event where she met her parents. Also, I really loved this special. It has made me really excited for spring for new episodes because this special has already made me fall in love with this new Doctor. The actors did a great job and the story felt fresh, new, and exciting.

I was completely taken back by The Doctor and Ruby singing I didn’t expect that and too be soo good, the woman at the end we are seeing more of her in the new series that comes out in May and I’ve seen theories that say she’s Future Ruby,Ruby’s Mum,Ruby’s Nan, River Song, The Rani and one that even says she’s a Time Lady who used a Chameleon Arch to watch over Ruby for the Doctor but didn’t have her memories but still remembers the doctor. I do love that Russell is acknowledging the timeless child aspect of it. Russell also said we are gonna go back to that church in the new series and also find more information about Ruby and her adoption. She actually does co host a show that finds lost parents, siblings and relatives called ‘Long lost Family’. Mrs Flood would have recognised a police call box as they were used in the 60’s. She is played by Anita Dobson and she’s married to Queen guitarist Brian May. As to who she is we aren’t sure but maybe there’s a clue in the name. I really liked the Church on Ruby Road. It was just fun! I loved Ncuti. I love that the sonic screwdriver has more capabilities. The standout line for me was “I’m learning the vocabulary of rope!”I loved Millie as Ruby. Ncuti and Millie have excellent chemistry. Ruby actually feels like a real three-dimensional person. I miss Russell's writing companions. I will say, it felt like Ruby was just totally okay with everything going on. I was waiting for her “WTF is going on” freakout. But that looks like that’s coming at the beginning of the next episode. She did say that it's all been so manic she hasn't had time to process and at the end of this episode she did do the “it’s bigger on the inside‽” without actually saying it. And it was awesome! Also, Ruby is also the same age as Rose Tyler. I loved her mother and grandmother. I thought the song was a lot of fun and I loved that Fifteen improvised on the spot. However, once again, Ruby did not lose it at what was happening threw me for a bit. I honestly thought this was going to end with the doctor calling for Ruby’s bio mom’s attention like Twelve did with Bill’s mom. Kind of glad he didn’t. I figured there was something up with Mrs. Flood because of her reaction to the Doctor going in and out of the TARDIS but that fourth wall break really shocked me! And she mentions way back in her first scene that she hasn’t seen one in 50 years. They brought back “mavity” and I’m wondering if that’s a puzzle piece in the mystery box. I hope we see more of Ruby’s friends. And did anyone else really like that cop character? Fun fact: the snowman scene was added at the request of Disney because they did some scene tests and people said that there wasn't enough of Ncuti in the quarter of the episode. And I think the scene really works. Reminded me of both the Doctor introducing himself in "The Waters of Mars" and the line "I'll just step into this police box and arrest myself from the episode "Planet of the Dead." Questions: Who are Ruby’s parents? Who is Mrs. Flood? Why does she drop the bags in shock in the dark timeline if she knows what a TARDIS is? Is Mrs. Flood connected to Ruby’s parents? Is all of this connected to The One Who Waits?

I find the idea of Ms. Flood to be really exciting! its always fun when doctor who does this, introduce a character who at first seems one off but is actually much more important to the over all tapestry of the narrative (river song and clara oswald are two big examples of this). I also find it interesting how her demeanor between the beginning and end of the episode changes, like before she seemed annoyed by the tardis's presence and really just like a normal person, but by the second half, its like she's an entirely different person, and not only knows the tardis but acts far more playful. Maybe its a similar idea to Prof. YANA and his chameleon arch and seeing the tardis began to bring back the memories? really looking forward to the season!

My hope for Mrs Flood is that she is the adopted daughter of Amy and Rory. Her age fits the timeline and the names fit, Pond, River, Flood! I know it's a stretch, but I would love anything connected to the them. After watching this one episode of Ncuti, I know in my soul he is gonna be amazing as the Doctor. He's truly the perfect fit.
