Met Davison first and got an auto on a pic with him and Tennant. When I met Tennant, he stopped cold when the pic went in front him. He looked up, smiled and, i his best Scottish brogue, said, "Ah, met the father-in-law now, have we?"

From a 2004 article in The Scotsman: Tom Baker remains Tennant’s idol. "People think I’m kidding when I say this, but I really do believe that his Doctor Who is one of the all-time great performances." He reckons Baker is "probably as mad as a tree full of snakes" but doesn’t want to meet him in case the illusion is shattered.

Davison was to me as a kid as Tennant was to contemporary British kids. At the time, the youngest actor to be cast (I believe he was 30 when he started), he was a dashing hero figure, often slightly out of his depth and not always winning the day. Also, the synth music references here are a nod to the early 1980s soundtrack from the BBC radiophonic workshop, which was very in keeping with the time.

David Tennant married Georgia Moffet who played Genny in The Doctor's Daughter. Georgia is Peter Moffet's daughter, aka Peter Davison who played the Fifth Doctor. Now take a deep breath before you go all cross-eyed on that one.

I don't know why people think David wrote this dialogue. It was Moffat that wrote it. If you look at old interviews with David, it was Tom Baker that he idolized. He only started listing Peter after he started dating Georgia. David explained where he got the idea for the trainers; he saw someone wearing a white suit with trainers on a tv show. There is video of him explaining it with a photo of the guy in the suit. I can't remember all the names, now. He's also always loved a long coat,too. Way back when he played Touchstone in As You Like It, he wanted a long coat and they made him the beautiful gold/green and red coat.

Actually, companion of the 1st Doctor Katarina, dies in The Daleks' Masterplan at the end of episode 4. She sacrifices and jettisons herself out of an airlock to save The Doctor and companion Steven Taylor.
@AubreySciFi5 жыл бұрын
Well actually (Spoilers) The first Doctor had TWO companions die in the same story. "The Daleks Masterplan". Katarina, one of the official companions he started the story with dies early on, and then Sara Kingdom, a temporary companion he gained during the story dies at the end. Definitely a dark story in places that one.

@@julieeverett7442 13 episodes if we're counting the teaser/prequel story "Mission to the Unknown" (which didn't involve the Doctor at all and only lasted one half hour episode in length.) The main story of the "Dalek's Masterplan" was 12 episodes. It was only topped by "The Trial of a Timelord" in 1986 which was 14 episodes long. (And was the entirety of season 23.) Which although has individual story titles that were originally created, ended up just being called "The Trial of a Timelord" all the way through. They obviously took that umbrella title/ linked story, season idea for the current 2021 Doctor Who season "Flux". Although, unlike the Trial season Flux actually does have individual story titles.
