My Classic Doctor Who dvd collection was easily 90% complete. Then they started coming out with these Blu ray box sets. Even if I have an entire season on dvd form. I still get the Blu ray box set. The additional special features alone are worth it, the behind the sofa is the best! But also the video and audio quality is scaled up from the DVDs. Some Blu ray box sets have updated special effects for a story that the DVDs do not. The Blu ray box sets are cheaper than buying the individual DVDs as well. They take up less space. Basically I am trying to say; I think you won’t be disappointed.

Limited Edition all the way for me! There’s no alternative that can match that beauty. The Limited Editions are my fav physical media that I own. Before I sold a lot of my stuff I had some gorgeous sets but still these Limited Editions are the best :)

There’s certainly positives and negatives to both. But nothing beats the Limited Edition sets. The box is just so unique and really feels like a definitive edition of that set of stories. The booklet is amazing. My favourite thing about the sets. The artwork. The feel. Terrific stuff. Interesting to see them all compared back to back!

Completely agree, love the limited edition sets. I just finished filming a video that mentions you in it, I was discussing the two doctors in it and talking about the amazing sontaran theme and that people should check out your badass remix of it.

Thing with the limited edition sets is if one gets damaged it’s unlikely you can replace and particularly on the early releases but standard sets all look like they are still available

I only buy Limited Editions. Take a lot of space, but I started with them, and they are the best versions. Hope, Amazon will deliver my Season 15 soon. But so far, it hasn't even been dispatched.

Interesting that the US version has the number as 7 as in the 4th Doctor 7th Season

Yeah they number then by each doctor, like season 12 is “Tom Baker Season 1”. It’s terrible.

The biggest disadvantage of the Limited Edition is that the trays tend to detach from the back of the box, often tearing the picture. But that's nothing you can't fix with some glue.

True, though the only one that has completely detected itself in my sets is season 17.

@@AnotherScifiGuyI had it three times already. But as I said, nothing that can't be fixed. If you do it correctly, you hardly see that the picture is torn at the spots the tray is attached.

I didn’t like the US season numbering system. As I gotten older I’ve enjoyed watching the older Showa era Godzilla movies in subtitles rather than dubbed. Some reason the US dumbed down the stories and content of the story with re-editing. It was more than just translating. I don’t know why the US changes these things lol

The US titles are extra silly. “Tom Baker, Season 7”. First, it's Season 18, not 7. And secondly, the show is called Doctor Who, not Tom Baker.
