I love the bit where he slips out of his John Smith persona and releases the Doctor before going back to being John Smith, he does it so smoothly.

"I've seen him. He's like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever and he burns at the center of time, and he can see the turn of the universe. And he's wonderful." Wow.

If someone asked me why David Tennant is the best Doctor, I would show this scene.

Him, going smoothly between the Human and the Time Lord is one of my absolute favorite scenes. David Tennant is a wonderful actor, being able to do this scene so great

1:44 this man has to be one of the most amazing actors ever. He switches from John to the Doctor and back to John so smoothly, it's brilliant!

This episode is why I love Tennant as the Doctor. His performance is top notch. It makes your heart(s) ache. You want so much for John Smith to be happy but it can never happen.

Falling in love, that never occurred to him. What kind of man is that Honestly that's a wonderful line. For John Smith, a man who cares so much about love, to think of himself turning into a man who woulsnt even consider it as a possibility

One of the best scenes. If one were to pick an episode or two as a solitary doctor who experience, these two would have to be up there. They show so much of who and what the Doctor is, and why he is special.
