Ahh I remember this when it came out. For a time it seemed this was the only Doctor Who we would ever get.... A time when the official 9th Doctor was Richard E Grant, the Time Lords existed, and the Master was an android. Crazy, crazy times.

Technically, yes. About 10 seconds of it was played during the trailers on the BBC channels when it was made in 2003.

Did you know that David Tennant (10th Doctor) did a small role in this as a caretaker? This was before he portrayed the 10th Doctor.

***** Did you Know... Richard E. Grant was in Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death", a Dr. Who Spoof by Steven Moffat? Also, the Curse of Fatal Death was produced by the writer of "Vincent and the Doctor"?

Did you know that Derek Jacobi was the Master in this webcast almost 4 years before he would play a canonical incarnation of the Master in Utopia?

David Tennant also played multiple characters for Big Finish before taking the role of Ten. My personal favourite is Colonel Brimmicombe-Wood from Doctor Who Unbound.

Think I may have found my new favourite Doctor Who Theme!
@darthjedi200515 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think that's a shame too :-( I suppose the closest we're ever going to get is if someone else makes their own version of it and puts it on whomix.

That's because it isn't Murray Gold's work. It was arranged by a relatively unknown composer called Russell Stone

I' about to post a re-edit that includes the middle eight. (btw, it's not just a crude re-cut that fades it into the howell or derbyshire theme, I actually sampled the baseline and constructed a middle eight section.)
@jedr198914 жыл бұрын
@DarthJedi2005 The techniques that would be required to add a middle eight don't seem incredibly complicated - it's a modification of Derbyshire's version, so really, it would just take someone with modification skill (not me, I'm crap) to fit in in correctly.

very good theme. actually liked E Grant's doctor. shame he was downgraded. (he was probably better than eccleston actually!)
@startrekgamer14 жыл бұрын
@unoficial13thdoctor Personally I prefer eccleston. That is because not only was he the first doctor I saw. He was also the doctor who got me into this show. I can't say anything about Grant because I never seen him.

I prefer this to the new series themes. But my favourite has to be the 1963 theme.

Technically speaking there are Three 9th Doctors: Rowan Atkinson, Christopher Eccleston and Richard E Grant, BTW there is no Doctor Who "Canon".
@StuartTheGamerNerd11 жыл бұрын
yes, the other two are from different timelines so i'd assume, "alternate regenerations".
@ChanceMcGavin11 жыл бұрын
***** Canon actually means the exact OPPOSITE of that. Canon is the conceptual material accepted as "official" in a fictional universe's fan base. So, the Doctor Who tv series and most of the official novelizations/original novels are canon, while the sketch Rowan Atkinson was in is not. Nor is the similar sketch in which Mark Gatiss played The Doctor. The Richard E. Grant stuff would probably have been made canon (as it was produced by the BBC) had the show not been relaunched in 2005 and Christopher Eccleston been made the canonical 9th Doctor. Now Grant's incarnation of The Doctor kind of exists in the "Wasn't that cool?" no-man's land that Peter Cushing's Doctor Who resides.

I'm probably the only one in the world who thinks so, but I think this remix kinda sucks. Especially the drums, I feel they were unnecessary.

You're not the only one. It does suck. It's easily my least favorite in all of Doctor Who.
