This is the most amazing episode ending for a long time, the music has chords that fits the giggle, the lyrics "I think this song will never end" matching the universe finally releasing all this "music energy" for so long and the harbinger just watching (which i think it proves the universe releasing the "music energy"), seriously it's an amazing piece of art and I'm so happy Doctor Who is exploring more surrealistic situations and the fragility of reality, space and time.

Idk yall. I loved this. It was delightfully silly and whimsical, and tons of fun. The song could’ve been better but I certainly didn’t see this coming. I don’t think it’ll be a common theme in every episode. They’re simply pulling from a wider range of influences to keep things fresh. Dr Who is hardly high brow and I wish people would stop acting so weirdly pretentious about it

Doctor Who's always been a stand-out because it's been at least a bit silly. For me, one of the parts that made Chibnall's run of DW so poor in quality was that it never embraced that small bit of silliness expect in small MCU-esque quips. It having a big budget and that tang of silliness just makes it much more Who-y for me.

The thing with musical numbers is they kinda have to be earned and they didn’t really earn this. Also there normally needs to be a point to it there was no point to this musical number, it didn’t have any deeper meaning they just wanted a musical number so they added it. The episode was fun but it lacked the part that makes it doctor who. It was to much Magic not enough science which can work in some situations but didn’t really work here. Atleast every actor involved gave a phenomenal performance which is probably what saves the episode from just being bad for me. And don’t get me wrong I do like having some camp in my doctor who but it works best when you ground it into a some form of reality. Like it worked with the toymaker because he still had some rules in which he followed and a reasonable level of chaotic energy, but the maestro kinda felt jumbled like they didn’t know what direction to take them in. At times they were cold and calculated and other times it felt like a child throwing a tantrum it felt like two separate characters
@rainymoon9848Ай бұрын
The best musical episode of a TV show and/or series was the "Once More, with Feeling" episode of Buffy by Joss Whedon. Every song in "Once More, with Feeling" had a purpose and revealed important things that various characters were feeling. The songs were also actually very good, though some of the actors on Buffy, like Sarah Michelle Gellar, were not singers and had somewhat weak singing voices. The best fictional musical with the best original songs, was "Bombshell" the fictional Marilyn Monroe musical from the TV show "Smash". I love musicals. I was really hoping that I would like this one from this clip. But, the song just wasn't my cup of tea. They probably did want it to sound like it came out of the 60s. The dance choreography was good, though. I liked the Doctor's and Ruby's dancing.

As a diehard and longtime fan of not just Doctor Who, but music itself, both classic and modern aliike for each cases, I can definetly say, with no regets, this episode is an insult to the series and to music. It's not to the fact that they make this a musical what kills it, but the way it was excecuted and the fact they just at the end cameo'd the Beatles (as in the rest of the episode) as just another band which makes music, apparently. I get the plotpoint was to get rid of music as a result of Maestro's evil scheme, but they just dumbed down the Beatles so much, even after Maestros defeat it feels as if they had literally not that much mportance to music, and was there as fanservice.... and this comes from a British show, who not only should give them some respect, but at least hire musicians to cover at least one of their actual songs, once Maestro was defeated.... seriously, did they not thought Paul and Ringo wouldn't see this? If they didn't, I'm really glad they didn't, cause this seems liike an insult to them. They had enough money to pay copyright if they wanted, and doing so would ensure more sucess to the show... but this just scares aways people who are both fan of Doctor Who and the Beatles alike. I mean I legit had huge hopes on this one they would honor and respect so much Beatles and their lore at least, not mock them like that, even if its aimed at kida audience, they won't care about Beatles like this, so the cameo would be for nothing literally... Russel, you were amazing up a decade and half ago I was really big fan... but your writing skills have quite aged badly....
