BEST Hearing Aids of 2025

One aspect that I never seem to hear about is how loud the hearing aids will play back from phones. For example, my old Beltone hearing aids streamed quite loudly with my iPhone, but my newer Phillip’s hearing aids won’t play loud enough for me to hear while driving. If I want to make a phone call while driving, I have to put on my AirPods which can go much louder than I need. Not sure why Phillips has a problem with this. And yes, I have the volume on the iPhone all the way up, and the volume adjustment on the Phillips itself doesn’t seem to affect streaming sound, only sound picked up by the microphones…

Your audiologist can increase the call volume no problem

@@stordevbigfoot Philios hearing aids are lacking when it comes to phone streaming. It can be adjusted a little bit by your provider though.

@@stordevbigfoot Using classic Bluetooth with my Phonak Audeo Paradise P70. They can be loud 😉. But there us a Lack of deep base (I use open domes). In the Phonak phone App, there is a slider button to adjust the balance between streaming sound and the noisy environment around you. So, if you would move the slider completely to the "streaming" side, the noise of your car is decreased. This helps also during phone calls while TV is running or in the office and in varius other situations. Hope that helps 😃🖖

I have tried to wear behind the ear hearing aids and I just don't have the ear to make it work. So, I need a custom mold hearing aid. I'm hoping that Phonak comes out with a custom in the ear model of the Infinio soon.

I have had in canal hearing aids for 5 years … im going in today to discuss new ones . I have the signia silk nx i believe they are called. They were my first hearing aids and did help me but its time to upgrade. All 6 of these look good . Wether or not Compensation Board will cover the costs is the deciding factor. Phonak sphere Battery last 2 days…. I couldn’t believe it and didn’t want a non battery replaceable hearing aid but don’t regret it at all. I upgrade every 2 years and this is the best I have ever purchased

I feel like I am stuck in limbo because the current offerings by Oticon are underpowered but my brain doesn't like the Phonak sound. 😢 Is there any news on when a new oticon SP or UP may be coming? I was recently in my audiologists office trialing the Phonak Naìda Lumity and, unfortunately, Phonak and Oticon sound differently to me and I prefer Oticon. That said, the Oticon Xceed is just too old for me as I am a data engineer by trade and constantly online for work meetings.

I have exactly the same problem! Great speech in sound but the speech is garbled - audiologist says i must wait for new oticon!! Grrrrrr!

Thanks for the video. Is the performance of the phonak audeo sphere infinio in the restaurant scene based on a closed fit (closed dome or earmold)? I am wearing audeo paradise p70 with open domes. Would the sphere also create such a wow effect with an open fit configuration? Does it make sense to combine the sphere with an activent receiver?

You know what works well for blocking out background noise? Buy earbuds with noise cancelation, then just turn on noise cancelation. It works great. This works because background noise is a constant sound, which noise cancelation is designed to eliminate. But a person talking directly to you is sporadic, and noise cancelation doesn't do well with that. This is why you hear knocks, pops, or any quick noise that dissappears immediately. Noise cancelation is good at negating a constant hum, or anything with a constant output. A good way to show how it works is to start a lawn mower. When starting it, the noise will be obvious, albeit quieter because you have earbuds in your ears, but once the lawnmower is running steady, it goes away significantly. So if you want to be able to hear someone in a loud restaurant, try turning your noise cancelation on. I use it all the time and it works. Happy hearing :) I use Soundcore Liberty Pro 4 earbuds.

Noise Cancelation helps to reduce background noise, but also makes understanding speech more difficult. It is better to use Ai to separate speech from noise. Especially if you have hearing loss.

A quick question. Can a bluetooth LE hearing aid still connect with a bluetooth 5 phone? The Starkey is intriguing with the long battery life. I am already tired of using dynamite to open the new battery packages.😁😁

@@scottr303 depends on the phone and if it uses LE Audio. Just because it has BT 5.0 does not mean that it can.

I followed the link to Lace AI. All it shows is some benefits but nothing about what I have to do for the training or how time consuming it is. 5 minutes a day or 4 hours a day? To get me to pay $500 for something I have never heard of more info is going to be needed. Maybe a good video suggestion? I would imagine others would be in the same boat.

Three questions please. Why are all the hearing aids except the Signia Styletto iX Priced a just over 4,000 usd? I am over 65 and my advantage plan only proves 1300.00 usd every two years and forces me to use only one vendor Hearing America. Why is that as they are overpriced in my opinion. What do you think of Costco for hearing aids. I am on my second set of rechargeable and they are 4 hears old. Your input would be of great value. Thanks in advance.

My wife has had the Phonak Audeo Sphere Infinio level 70 for 2 months. She uses a IPhone with the Phonak APP. She constantly loses Bluetooth connection to either the phone or the hearing aids left sometimes then right sometimes. At fist it was a iPhone software update 17.1 then 18.1 was suppose to correct it. Them 18.1.1 was suppose to. It is better it was losing connection several times a day now maybe 1 or 2 times a day. Has Phonak involved with this issue?

My Spheres have had zero Bluetooth connectivity issues. I have had them for a month. Why not see your HA provider. It may be a Phonak problem; it may be an issue with the iPhone.

@@repeter118 we have been to our provider on three occasions and their research indicated it may be an Apple problem which it was initially, but it has not improved that much. What type of phone are you using with your app?

I have always worn Phonak hearing aids. Now, buying my third pair, I tried the 2024 Spheres. They had many glitches and didn't work well with the IOS My Phonak app. Have there been improvements in the 2025 version? Does the case have a larger center well? I am currently trying out the 2023 Luminity version but am not thrilled with it. Should I hang in there until next year to get the newest versions?

It seems that we’re at the mercy of choosing a hearing aid based on how well its app performs. Is this accurate? I LOVE the Styletto and it has the tech level I need (7IX) and the style I like, but I am hesitant only bc the app reviews are so awful. Who am I to think Oh, I won’t have these same problems, like connectivity issues, etc? What can one do to mitigate this issue? What do we do if the app doesn’t perform well enough? I read a lot of reviews about the hearing aids resetting to default levels when charging, so that each day it has to be readjusted- true for all rechargeable HAs? Thanks, Dr Cliff for the info.

I hope more work is done on indeterminate hearing aids. For example, create a device and charge it through a controller. such as TV controls. Do not let the device come out of the ears.

It is interesting that you don't mention Phillips, Jabra or Rexton; hearing aids that should be on any audiologist's list but are sold by Costco. Shame on you!

Those are all off brand hearing aids of these same manufacturers that do not use the most updated tech. They are immediately disqualified because the name brands are better. Philips=Oticon, Jabra=Resound, Rexton=Signia.
