Is this the BTS syndrome' s thread where we can cry with retroactive effect and comfort each other? 🫂 *B* orn *T* oo *S* oon. That' s half of the problem. Am I the only one who cannot stop wondering how dramatically different my life would have been I the internet existed when I was 14? Currently 50 yo and taking a micro micro micro mantenance dose of isotretinoine. Not to talk about the amount of years, unsuccessful derms and money it took me to find THE ONE. With some videos like this one I' d been able to say: "Retinoic acid and tanning bed 3 times a week? No sunscreen?😱 No, mom, no, this is not how it works, UV rays destroy collagen and I need my pores to be nice and hugged. We are not gonna come back to this doctor". I demand a time machine😌. 🖤

I grew up with a mother that would constantly degrade me for my physical appearance. She often mistook my sebacious filaments for blackheads that weren't very "black" and constantly insulted the fact that I must not have been washing my face enough, when I was washing it EXCESSIVELY for that very reason. On top of insulting my skin, my weight, my general appearance, that one particular nitpick of hers has always really stuck with me. While my sebacious filaments have improved since that age (10, I'm 27 now) I'm really excited to apply the info in this video! Very much an overshare of a comment but, idk, this information healed something in me. Thank you as always for the concise and thorough nature of your videos!

With oily skin I’ve found if you dry it out without replacing the moisture in your skin it actually produces more oil and then it’s a downward spiral. It’s good to dry out the oils but you gentle face wash and adding a good moisturiser helps control oil production.

Azelaic acid!!! Seriously, I wish I would have tried it sooner! Peach slices, Paula’s Choice, Drunk Elephant I’ve all tried and had results (DE my fav, PS my least fav due to pilling but still good for price). I’ve also heard good things about Dr. Sam Bunting’s 10% AA (UK based, must buy from her website I believe) and Naturium’s 10% Emulsion (on their website as well as Amazon). It is usual the retinol alternative prescribed/recommended by dermatologists for patients who are trying to conceive/expecting 😊

After about 2 weeks on accutane for adult acne all the stuff in the pores on my nose was just falling out with ease. Since finishing my accutane treatment 7 months ago my skin has become slightly oily again but not to the extreme that it used to. This means my pores have stared to look big again. After exhausting all my options I think a procedure is the next step I need to take to improve my pores. Thanks for the advice, I think I’ll try a facial first.

My husband was on Accutane for cystic acnee at the age of 26 (face and upper back) 43 years ago and after having our last child, and it did clear his acne, but went through important redness and flaky skin. But after a year or so, it made him self-assured and changed his life. So maybe today's Accutane must be (maybe) more gentle in this aggressive procedure 🤔. But for him, it was a life changing procedure. Looking forward to your next video 😊

I am in my mid 40’s and have always had very oily and sensitive skin. My enlarged pores have been the biggest challenge so am very appreciative of this video! Your channel has taught me so much and I have to say I can see an improvement on my skin which still breaks out now and again. When was I was younger I had acne from early teens to 24yrs! Oh what I would have paid to know what I know now! I now have a 10 year daughter who started breaking out at age 8. She now has a skin care routine with some of the mild products containing Salicylic acid and niacinimide which is helping but has breakouts (almost every week) but doesn’t have as many pimples as she had at age 9. I am mindful of her age and it would be helpful if you do a video focusing on children in particular those who start puberty early.

@JasminMiettunen17 күн бұрын
For double cleansing you use an oil cleanser or oil based cleansing balm first, then a regular cleanser. You can use a salicylic acid cleanser after the oil cleanser, some people can use salicylic acid every day but some people can’t. Just a good moisturiser that works for your skin is fine, but niacinamide and ceramides in your moisturiser are good for your skin.

I keep hearing that cleansers and creams with 5-10% Sulfur or Onion derived sulfur when left on for at least 10mins for efficacy are effective at minimising seb filaments/black heads whilst also drastically decreasing oil production and shrinking pores. Depending on brand some dont even have the egg smell. There's a few offerings that are inexpensive sulfur soaps, and mid range priced products from Vichy, Thayers, Malin+Goetz and pricey options from Kate Sommervile and ProActiv.

The amount of times retinol is mentioned in this video 🧑🔬 5. The information around isotretinoin (not) available in certain countries and in certain languages that tackle serious issues of depression and suicide and dermatologists who'd rather focus on not trying to conceive over trying to keep you in good health and keep quiet about data big Pharma paid to omit from leaflets. 🔍🤫 6. So I have a slightly off topic question. When dermatologists speak about reducing dark spots on one’s face, are dark spots due to hyperpigmentation the same as dark spots caused by sun damage? Can you reduce dark spots caused by sun damage the same way one treats hyperpigmentation or does sun damage require laser treatments to even one’s tone? Thank you.

I used to have oily combination skin now after consistent use of lightweight moisturizers, mild BHA cleansers and niacinamide serums, my skin has become more 'normal'. But whenever my face gets a bit inflamed and oily I apply a calamine lotion, called Lactocalamine. It has zinc and gives a matte finish. Good for oily irritated skin. A dermatologist recommended it when I was a teen facing pimples.
