I’m certainly not the only one who sees the importance of understanding the purpose of these effects and how they integrate into the mix. It is an impact effect to me. Very frontal in nature. I am not a big distortion fan. That’s just me. I am not being paid to do this either, so it really matters not. Learning is what I am getting out of these videos. Not all of us can afford to go to school and get this education so I am particularly glad that you are doing this for us. It may not be as detailed as going to a school, but it isn’t bad at all in my opinion! Thank you very much!👍🏻😊

Been watching this box for years! I've saved up and will be getting one soon. Where do you put it in your mastering chain, not that I'm going to be mastering, just curious. I bought 2 BAE 10DC's and want to put the Vulture before them on my master bus. Any suggestions?

Sounds rad - are you doing anything specific to get the delay compensation / hardware insert perfectly in phase?
@Doctormix8 жыл бұрын
Nothing specific, Pro Tools delay compensation is pretty good at aligning things. Cubase is also fantastic at automatically compensating too! :) You can always bounce things down when you decide on the processing and double check the alignment too.

Thank you! So, you just added a hardware send and didn't calculate any delay? Just let PT just run with it?

Can i use any stereo unit distortion or it must be something special? Any budget suggestions?
@clusternest17044 жыл бұрын
Dear Doctor. I need medicine. How did you manage to parallel the unit without phase issues?
@pierofagone18524 жыл бұрын
With protools vst for latency specific for insert

Good stuff guys! Nice vid, although the differences were of course subtle, they were still there and present :-)
@Doctormix10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's exactly right. We used this machine quite subtly on this video. But don't let that fool you: this unit can be used for a touch of colour... or for a raging fire! Watch what it can do to a bass sound on our other video ;-) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmqnpampg5p6rdE

Hi , This version is the Super 15 , have you tried the culture vulture standard or mastering version ? are they good units as well for bringing the sound forward like the Super 15 ? Best TM

why vocals are recorded stereo oris it 2 mics?
@Doctormix8 жыл бұрын
+ouhlala! Hi, the vocals weren't recorded in stereo. These vocals are actually from one of our engineer's projects, and we used the vocal stem that was printed at the end of the mix.

I think the Culture Vulture is a really overrated piece of gear, but it sounded good on these samples, anyways, nothing that it justifies its thousands of dollars though, but good...
@Doctormix10 жыл бұрын
Hey Diego! I know the currency exchange may not be your friend here, especially against US dollars. However I can ensure you that this machine is a great, great investment. It's terrific on drums, unbeatable on bass and electric guitars, shockingly good at mastering, and a sublime on vocals. Lots of people use compressors just because they need character, but this unit delivers character like nothing we've ever tried before. Of course it's not for all pockets... but if you know how important saturation can be when it comes to mixing - think of plugins like Soundtoys Decapitator or CraneSong Phoenix - then the Vulture Super 15 is your tool. And if you use it as much as we do then it's a really great bang for the buck ;-)

+Doctor Mix Yeah, price is steep, but if it delivers the final touch and finishes of your track, than it's worth every penny spend I think.
