iTunes digital bonus track from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

Used to call these B-sides. They are now "digital bonus tracks". Can you imagine writing this, THIS, and chucking it out as a "digital bonus track"? The insanity of true genius.

I wouldn't even say it's comparable to putting it out as a B-side. After all this album had its actual B-sides on the singles. Its closer to what 'Sad Song' was to Definitely Maybe. Only available as a extra track on the vinyl version as this was only available on the digital download version. Incredible really that he's still throwing away songs this good just as he did all those years earlier. I find it amazing and frustrating in equal measure . An unbelievable song writer.

Oh, Cecilia, close your eyes and I will be with ya I'm in the song that's rising over ya, close your eyes and drift away Just the two of us broke up all the rules they made for us Play a simple game of genius if you live to fight another day Dream of all of the love you made It's there in your kaleidoscope eyes All my life and all that I've ever had, lies waiting here If you don't make up your mind, then how can I drift away If you don't let me be your guide then how can I drift away Times are dangerous, think the future's got it in for us Play a simple game of genius if you live to fight another day Dream of all of the love you made It's there in your kaleidoscope eyes All my life and all that I've ever had, lies waiting here for you If you don't make up your mind, then how can I drift away If you don't let me be your guide then how can I drift away (Drift away) Dream of all of the love you made It's there in your kaleidoscope eyes All my life and all that I've ever had, lies waiting here If you don't make up your mind then how can I drift away If you don't let me be your guide then how can I drift away If you don't make up your mind then how can I live today Forever we walk in the light, you and I drift away We drift away

@jennifershelley69385 жыл бұрын
@ Lain - Oasis took inspiration from the Beatles , Who, Sex Pistols Stone Roses, Bee Gees, T. Rex, Slade, Small Faces, Nirvana, Stones,The La's, Doors, Hendrix, Kinks, Jam, Smiths among others. The Beatles copied from A LOT of American musicians. I am a huge Beatles fan - they were my favourite until Oasis. I'm not trying to have a go at you, but it gets real old to hear people say that Oasis are like a Beatles copy, when they aren't at all. THIS SONG DOESN'T SOUND AT ALL LIKE THE BEATLES. Neither does Idlers dream, Go let it out, Bring it on down or Supersonic. Listen to more of their music and quit parrotting what you've read online. x Live Forever.

I don't think there will ever be another songwriter like Noel Gallagher, the lyrics, the melodies, the fact that songs like this don't even make the official album cut. + Modern Life - I couldn't agree with you more. Noel is just an incredible songwriter. His music moves me more than any other band has ever done. I'm a big fan of Beatles, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Kinks and I think those are fantastic bands - but for me, Oasis are something more.

+ TWLuck - It is crazy that Noels' songs are not given as much recognition! I like the more popular songs he wrote like Champagne Supernova and Don't look back in anger, but some of his greatest tunes are the bsides! This is an amazing song, Idlers dream, and The heart of a star are some of my favourites. I'm a Yank, but I think the reason he (and Oasis) don't get the critical acclaim they so deserve in the UK is because of some silly North/South divide. Like working class Mancs vs the posh ones like Blur, Radiohead, etc. I'm not bashing Blur or Radiohead - I just think the whole "class" thing is what keeps critics from admitting that Noel wrote songs that were for everyone and those songs are so embedded in the British psyche, that when the UK football loses a game abroad - the crowd will sing Don't look back in anger!!!!! Can the same be said for a Blur or Radiohead song? No. Noel Gallagher - one of a kind, godlike genius.
